I had a P5B and what you did was copy the firmware file to a usb thumb drive. Then boot computer and go into bios and there was an option to flash. Then choose the file on the thumb drive.

Unable to upgrade it to Window-10 for Gateway DX4885. It throws an error while installing the update

Copy and paste the following link into your web browser:
https://www.alphr.com/upgrade-windows-8-1-to-windows-10/

Windows 8 is 'old hat' now and you may have difficulty in upgrading, if it is actually still possible.

Your computer is old? There's (old) 32 bit computers and more modern 64 bit computers. An operating system is designed for either 32 bit or 64 bit.

What you can try is another OS such as Linux. Run it as a 'live version' to see if you like it before you install/use it. All you need is a usb drive or dvd that can be written to.
1. Download rufus
https://rufus.en.lo4d.com/windows

2. Download a Linux iso image - such as Desktop Ubuntu (it will download into the downloads folder)
https://ubuntu.com/#download

3. Insert the USB drive into your computer

4.Open rufus - navigate to the download folder and install Ubuntu onto the USB drive. (simply copying and pasting the files will NOT work. You have to make a bootable USB. Rufus does this for you.

You now have a portable OS on a USB.

5. Restart your PC and open the bios settings. Navigate to the boot sequence and change the first boot device to USB. Press F10 and exit. Your PC will then restart and run Linux from the USB. No changes are made to your computer.

You can either run Linux 'live' from USB or click on the desktop icon which says install onto computer.
............................................................................................
If you wish - instead of putting Linux Ubuntu onto USB you can burn the downloaded .iso file onto dvd and choose cd/dvd drive as first boot device.

Again, simply copying and pasting the Linux image onto dvd will not work. You must make it bootable. I you don't have the software try installing k3b:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/k3b/

It's all actually quite easy to do.

Acer aspire one D270 is not allowing me to logon.

With another computer create a bootable Flash drive using the following program.
http://rufus.akeo.ie/

Download Ophcrack
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/gr/ophcrack.htm

Use Rufus to burn the ISO to your flash drive.

Roboot your computer, start tapping F12 just before the Leno Splash screen starts until the boot menu comes up.

Boot to USB and Ophcrack should start up on its own, allow the program to run and it will do the work for you.

Why use bootsect?
Easiest and working tool I found to create a bootable USB from an image is "Rufus", found here: Rufus Create bootable USB drives the easy way

I made a bootable USB for Windows 8.1 installation and confirm that it worked.

Hope this helps.

Want to remove U3 software and completely wipe SanDisk Cruzer Micro flash drive.

Try using a tool like Rufus http://rufus.akeo.ie/ to format the drive to its full capacity. There are links on the page to other usb utils.

Cant boot from usb. sandisk cruz 4gb

These answers are garbage. You should be using "Roofus," you won't have to do any of that fancy formatting stuff. You can just select the drive and ".iso" file in the program and begin burning. https://rufus.akeo.ie/

Hi truckereric, The short answer no.
USB 2.0 is acheaved by two things.
1. You need to enter your system boards Bios. Find the USB settings. If USB 2.0 is listed here than your board will support it.

2. USB 2.0 is installed through windows updates.

3. If your board can't handle USB 2.0 maybe there is a Bios update. No, I checked your bios & there is no bios update to bring you up to USB 2.0.

AOpen's driver / software & bios support found at the link posted here. http://download.aopen.com.tw/Default.aspx
You'll need to fill in the three dropdown menues.
Motherboard
MX4BS
& Order by: LastUpdated
There are five pages of updates. If you change the Category dropdown menue to Bios. AOpen will show you the bios updates.
At least you have AOpends update link.
You can always add a PCI card that supports USB 2.0
