Will not boot but runs and will not talk to monitor

Ok i went on vacation left my pc on (Compaq Presario) model#163874-003.
Came home and it was running still but nothing on the screen, so bought a new monitor turned it off then back on and it did not boot up or even say anything on the screen, after i turned it on all it does is sounds like it is trying to boot and then stops but the fans keep running.

Hi mikebal26 this is nichu,ok let me make you clear that your system is not booting because your cpu is not recognising some of the hardware it may be either your hdd,ram or any other.
.
if your system does not boot it has nothing to do with your monitor and fans.fans keep rotating whenever you switch on your pc.check inside the cpu especially with your ram .

so first when you turn on the system press delete to check it in the bios settings , in that check bootable addins and in the bootable devices set
1st priority to-cd rom,
2nd priority to hard disc drive,
3rd to priority to floppy drive.

.save the above settings and then boot this will turn on your system .
this will solve your problem
.

bye,
take care & have a nice day.

My PC won't start? every time i start it the fan just spins fast and loud and nothing happens, the screen doesn't show. this happened when i took the PC apart. it a Compaq presario sr1610nx

Initially test the monitor in another pc, if display available use the monitor in Compaq presario sr1610nx. Load to BIOS by restarting and tapping F1, if the display available, the computer is ok. restart and tap F8, if the advanced boot option screen comes up, the software is ok.
Restart the computer and tap F10 and proceed with a destructive recovery to reload the operating system on the computer

Black Screen Compaq Presario

Do you see the BIOS splash screen or anything?
Try booting into safe mode by pressing F* as soon as you power on the computer. If the monitor works, then it is a bad driver. Roll back to a previous restore point, boot to last known good coonfiguration. Last Known good configuration is available from the same as the safe mode screen.

Hello i have a compaq presario 5000 when i turn

This is a compicated problem. First when it boots enter setup by pressing the F10. Once you are in set up reset all settings to default. Save changes and exit CMOS. If that does not help the situation have someone make you a boot disk, reenter setup and put the floppy as the first boot drive and then CDrom. Insert the boot disk, follow the instructions to boot. Once you are up and running try to roll back the computer to the last recovery point that worked. If that does not work you may need to see a local repair tech.

PC DO NOT BOOT

It seems that you don't have any Operating System installed. You need some bootable OS setup disk, and change BIOS settings to boot you PC from CD. Insert disk and restart PC, then follow onscreen instructions to setup OS.

Compaq presario v5000

Boot into Setup and run the TOOLS / PRIMARY HDD TEST / SHORT TEST.

If it fails, try another HDD.

If OK, verify Boot Order is Floppy, CD-ROM, HDD. Exit Setup.

Print Table 1 Low Level Format instructions from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/106419

Boot with a DOS disk that contains Debug. Run the Table 1 script. Turn V5000 Off.

Boot with the HP Operating System CD. XP install should now proceed normally.

Good luck.
