The AV OUT on your DVD player must go into the corresponding AV IN[PUT] on your TV.

SOURCE: Just got a samsung H1080 DVD player playing black and white only

The component connection should have one red, one green, and one blue connector that will connect to the back of your player and the back of your television. Then there should also be another red and a white connector that should run from the AUDIO L & R OUT of your player to the AUDIO L & R IN beside the Component IN connections on your TV. The yellow cord would normally be running from the VIDEO OUT on the back of your player to one of the VIDEO IN connections of your TV.

I have trouble setting up my 50 inch T.V. It is connected to a VCR/DVD player recorder. I have a red, yellow, and white cable. Do I need anything more?

If possible use a AV SCART connection lead as you get audio & video! If you want to use the phono connection you need to connect all 3 red/white/yellow to the TV and the VCR/DVD! Red & white are audio, yellow video!

I am trying to get my combo player hooked up to my tv. I don't have the manual. I just want to be able to watch DVD's and VHS tapes.

Check the type of connections on your combo player and TV, there are likely two options for connection:
1st option = AV: 3 RCA connections (yellow, red, white)
2nd option = COMPONENT: 5 RCA connections (red, green, blue, red, white)
Get the appropriate cable and connect it to the available input on your TV. Unless you have an ancient TV from a few decades ago, it should at least have AV connection.

How do I connect my Magnavox DVD/VHS player to my Element Flat screen TV?

Do you have a newer TV or a older one lets start with a newer models does your tv have 3 or more jacks on the back or front you should see a RED, YELLOW and WHITE if you have a HDTV you should see more. (LETS HOOK UP) Did your DVD/VCR come with a cables if not you will need to buy at least 2 they are called RCA cables Lets start with the dvd/vcr combo on the back you should see a (LINE OUT) this is where playback or your picture and sound come out. On the back of the TV you should see a (LINE IN) this is where you plug it in to. RED goes to RED, WHITE goes to WHITE and YELLOW goes to YELLOW. To Record you will need to hook up the line in on your combo and the line out to your tv. ( IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER T.V WITH NONE OF THOSE JACKS ) you will need to buy a RF- MODULATOR the are cheap it is a box that let you hook a cable wire to a little box and the RCA jacks to you combo and you will turn your tv to channel 3 or 4

Hooking up my DVD/VHS player to TV & Convertor box

I would just hook up the dvd/vhs player with the red, white, yellow rca cables that should of come with your unit and just go to the input on the tv to watch your dvd/vhs player. This will give you a better picture and sound while allowing you not to have to watch dvd/vhs on a channel which helps make the dvd/vhs player independent. Also if possible I would hook the converter box up with the red, white, yellow rca cables to the tv as well if your tv has more than one set of red, white, yellow plugs since it is a better connection that coax and you probably watch more tv than vhs/dvd anyway. So bottom line try to hook up both boxes red, white, yellow and watch each box on different inputs instead of like channel 3 or 4. Also to record of converter box you can run coax from converter box to dvd/vhs combo and make sure your dvd/vhs player is on tuner input or channel 3.

Hooking up a d.v.d player to a vcr/tv combo?

RCA plugs (the yellow, red, and white outlets you speak of) consist of a video plug (yellow) and stereo plugs for audio (red and white). Just match the colors from the DVD RCA colors to the RCA hook-ups on the TV (ex. Yellow the Yellow, White to White).

You don't need to worry about the red one, it just makes the DVD player play stereo audio. Instead, you'll have mono, which is fine, and most modern players can detect mono and switch it for you so don't worry about changing settings and what not (unless you're missing sound on one side.)

Getting a dvd player to record vhs to dvd

The RF converter takes the Red/White/Yellow as INPUTS and converts them to either channel 3 or 4. You need to go the other way. You need a tuner or another VCR to convert from RF (channel 3 or 4) to a standard AV signal (Red/White/Yel).

Samsung CXD2512 TV/VCR Combo...Cannot hook up DVD player

We also don't have a remote. We hooked a DVD/VCR combo to the Samsung combo by attaching the cable from the cable line to the DVD player and an additional cable from DVD to TV and it used to work but after we lost the control, the DVD can only be listened to but not seen. The VHS from the DVD player works perfectly though.

When we had the remote (before connecting the other combo) we used line-in to see a DVD or VHS using the yellow red and white cables from the Samsung to the other player.
