Halfords have just broken my headlight and got it stuck, it won,t come out, help?

Halfords is a mechanic? If this is the case and they cannot get this out then you need a new mechanic altogether. Now, If it is the lamp in the lens and you cannot get it out I am assuming you did not remove the lens from the body. If this is true then remove the lens and it will be easier to get the lamp out. If you broke the lens assembly then broke is broke. Take it out in pieces if you have to being careful not to damage mounting points or any part of the car.

The headlight lens cover has oxidation on the inside of the light lens. How do I remove the lens so I can clean it off?

You don't. The headlamp assembly is a sealed unit. If you were to remove just the lens it would be almost impossible to seal it. If air or moisture gots inside that assembly the bulb will blow. The best way is to replace the whole assembly but since it's a Volvo you may emd up having to go to the dealer. Check online for some aftermarket ones but make sure they have been in business for awhile as you don't want anything that's gonna make your car look worse even if they will be new. wish I had better news for you but hope it helped you some. Good luck.

A bird flew into my headlight and broke it. There is a hole in it but the light still seems to be working. Can I just replace the cover or does the whole headlight need to be replaced. How much does it...

You cannot just replace the headlight lens. The headlight is an assembly and the entire assembly must be replaced. You can get one on the internet at many sites. You may want to replace them both if the lens has become cloudy and hazy or your vehicle will look odd with one shiny clean lens and one cloudy lens. They are not that expensive on this sire at $42.

When i turn it on it says turn off and on again

I have just had exactly the same thing on my daughter's NV3. In this case the lens cover would not open but if you power on the camera with you finger on the display button you can view stored images. If the lens cover is jammed you need to open the casing and maybe take the lens cover assembly apart. You need a very small cross head screwdriver (No.00 should be OK). There are 5 screws in total, 4 screws on the outside of the case (3 plus1 under the headphone socket cap) and 1 inside the battery compartment. You need to remove all 5 to remove the camera front casing. There are some retaining springs top and bottom on the front cover, gently prize off to reveal the lens cover assembly. Check to see if the lens cover will operate by switching on and off - if it works then the camera front casing is preventing it from opening and is probably bent out of shape. A little careful bending back into shape should resolve the problem. If it still does not work with the casing removed, read on. This is the tricky part. There are two extremely small, black retaining screws to the left hand side which hold the assembly onto the lens cover motor. Remove these screws and the front of the lens cover assembly to reveal the lens cover and the back plate of the assembly. Lift off the lens cover and switch on the camera. If the motor is still working, you will see a short black peg move from side to side as you turn the camera on and off. Thoroughly clean the lens cover and assembly, remove any obstruction and replace the lens cover making sure you locate the hole in the lens cover over the motor peg (described above).
The motor is magnetic and will attract the screws away from their holes if you replace the assembly front straight away, so when you replace the front of the lens cover assembly, place the screws in the correct holes before lowering it into place and then screw onto the motor/assembly back. Test that the lens cover opens and closes and replace the Camera front cover taking care not to bend it too much - if this becomes distorted it can stop the lens cover from operating resulting in the same problem.

Door wont open from inside or outside

I have just fixed mine. You have to remove the rear seat then remove the side panel that the door is jammed on.Now looking at the door post you will see two screw heads that are crome in colour. I took a small grinder and took of some of the length of the screw These two screws is what holds the door latch to the body which holds the door closed I then drilled a hole threw the bracket and the screws both screws then broke the bracket loose, pushed the screws in and the door opened.Had to buy a new lock assembly from a wrecking yard and took out the to screws I drilled out.of the same car I got the lock assembly Good Luck It worked for me

Lens will not retract completly on sony cyber shot DSC-W55 after being dropped while lens extended

Only try this if your camera is out of warranty. Turn camera on, and extend lens fully, now grab outer most element and pull out. Sometimes you can reseat the lens in the track at the correct point. I used to do this all the time to my older digital cameras.

Cannot remove tail light assembly

I had the HARDEST time with the lights...I never realized changing a bulb would be so difficult. Once you unscrew what you need to, go into the trunk and pull the lining away from the back part of the light. There are the white prongs that you will need to tap with a hammer until they pop out and then the light assembly will come out. Be careful though, I got a little too impatient and broke mine. I used a binding agent to hold it back in place though...GOOD LUCK!

Casio Exilim EX-S500 Diaphragm Problem

Well, on mine the problem was inside the lens assembly. There is a ribbon wire that runs along the inside wall of the lens housing (that powers the diaphragm motor) and, as the lens is retractable and there is a zoom mechanism, it forms a loop, so it can extend and retract along with the housing. In my camera, this wire formed a crack right in the middle of that loop. The crack does not extend along the whole width yet, so in certain zoom positions there actually is an intermediate contact, so that the diaphragm actually works if you use the intermediate zoom, but does not work in max or min zoom positions.
As for fixing it, the only thing you can pretty much do is to replace the whole lens assembly. That wire is a branch of a bigger one that powers other motors in the lens, so you can't really remove it easily, and besides, no one carries it by itself. The new lens assembly is $380 from the parts supplier. So I just bought a broken camera off ebay for 9 bucks, with a functional lens. When it comes in, I'll just replace it. The replacement part is actually pretty straight forward. The lens assembly is held by 3 snap tabs, so just disconnect the wires for the CCD and the motors and remove the assembly.

Focus problem

that problem is on the lens assembly...one the two motor is not working properly...sometimes it is a poor connection to the socket of the main board...other is photo sensor of the lens(not the ccd image sensor)or the driver ic of the 2 motor...i suggest you have to go the service center for repairing you camera cause it need to disassemble the camera for doing this....
