Do not connect the usb cable, install first the software (in cd) of the printer, wait until it is finished then restart the computer. then connect the included usb cable (computer to printer) and power-on the printer. it will automatically detects your printer and you are ready to print or scan.

You can also the download the driver from that site if you lost the driver CD. Please note that this printer will only work to Windows 2000, XP and Vista 32 bit OS. Hope this helps.
