I have a WD 65738. While viewing a program, the color becomes distorted, along with a humming sound. Status light stays green.

Have unplugged for a length of time; unsuccessful. Have tried resetting; unsuccessful. After the TV has cooled a little, we turn it back on and have a good picture for a short time, then the discoloration & hum occur again.

Hello, it sounds like your color wheel is going bad. the humming noise is usually the bearing in it going bad and it starts to distort the image and finally it will shut the set down because it is malfunctioning......tks

SOURCE: Mitsubishi TV WD-62527 will not turn on

Hi there, this is most commonly known as power board failure in the industry. the capacitors are blown. if you are experienced in inspecting circuit boards this will be helpful. you will have to disassemble and pull the power board and preform a break point test. the bown capacitors are easily picked out. they will be swollen and discolored. If you are not comfortable with disassembling this set, i suggest a service call. just tell the tech you are experiencing a power board failure.

Check that the lamp door is closed all the way. There is a saftey switch that closes from the door being on all the way. If not the status light will keep blinking. There is also a switch on the air filter door.

After about 30-60 minutes TV starts to hum and picture gets distorted, could this be the color wheel...???

Sounds like a sync problem due to color wheel speed. clean and lubricate color wheel motor with tiny amount of Z-Max lubricant (liquid Buckey balls, available at Wal-Mart), on each bearing. make sure wheel is free-wheeling and turns easily. Should cure problem. If the color wheel is in good shape, there is a power supply problem, which may be due to dried out electrolytic capacitors or a regulator that's failing. Troubleshooting or controller board replacement may be needed. Regards.

I have a wd-65738 TV . Heard pop no picture with

That pop was probably a capacitor blowing up in the power supply. Could be another power component too. Get an estimate from a TV repair shop first to see if it's worth fixing or flat screen TV time.

Mitsubihi WD-65738 no power, no lights. Is there a fuse I can check? Maybe by the plug?

Follow the power cord inside to the power board--line fuse will be there--have fun and patience as a lot of screws to remove to get there---as seen from rear power board should be to far left side.

Blinking green status light

Unplug for a few minutes then plug back in to try to reset it. Sometimes it could take as long as overnight before pluging back in to reset. Number of blinks is usually a trouble code.

Toshiba 56HM195 56 in HD DLP Loud Buzzing and color distortion

If the sound, sounds more like a Hum with some vibration chances are the Cooling fan located behind the lamp is going bad, about $20 to repair, if its a high pitch hum most likely the Color Wheel and if thats the case about $30.
Good luck, my fan just went bad now seeing green dots everywhere, so debating on just junking it out or fixing it, with winter coming on might just breakdown and buy LCD and say the heck with DLP from now on.
Good luck to you..
