Carb ajustment is off--issues in the float causing it to flood--cud be sticking--get a haynes manual or library sec629 has shopbooks

Could be helpful but float was already rebuilt--possibly as a misdiagnosis. Dewey decimal 629 good ideabut Hayne's is always a risky choice without keen eye for errors and wrong approaches and specs--just not the best of mechanics and writing there--which is likely why new car dealer parts depts stock and sell them.

There seems to be a sparcity of information about your normally aspirated experiences, including weather conditions; how long it runs before you "u cut it off"; and how much normal cranking happens before floorboarding it for more air because of flooding. The question, then, become whether the flooding occurs during the run time and/or cut-off; or during the restart prior to floorboarding. The thing needed is to eliminate possible faults starting with the usual cause of flooding: the start up. My first thought would be to eliminate the possibility of a faulty choke unloader (stuck in choke)...which would cause excess fuel delivery both after the successful startup (of non flooded carb) and during the attempted startup with flooding.

SOURCE: 1986 toyota pickup starts wont stay running

It seems there is some kind of air entering the carburator where its not required to do so or the idling soleniod switch is malfunctioning, thus not allowing the air to enter for the engine to idle .
Also recheck the vaccum pipes if they are correctly refitted per the schematics under the hood.More over remove the idling switch and blow some air to the hole probabley theres some kind of obstruction over there .

Good Luck.

Knight.

My 1987 Toyota pickup is running/starting bad when it is up to temp?

Question edited for all the typos and spelling mistakes.

Definitely sound like a carb issue. You need a good carb tuner who can strip it and clean it. It sounds like the choke is sticking, so it starts fine when cold and then when hot, the choke is still on.

Cold start cranking problems 1987 toyota truck wont hardley crank when cold then fires fine after gets crunk till next morning

My 1987 truck I use to have had a choke and it would stick open some times. When you get in the vehicle, you have to press the gas pedal to the floor once to set the choke and add enough fuel to start the vehicle. I assume your vehicle has a carburetor and would suggest the following:

When your engine is cold, take off the air cleaner cover and base and look the butterfly valves. They are fist valve on the top of the carb air inlet. Go and step on the gas pedal once. Observe if the valves move to the almost closed position or not. If they don

Check ur battery, check the engine radiator hose and the condition of radiator, and always check the water. if the problem is still there check the igniter plug if there's carbon presence around, if u found its burned, its better to change. do this troubleshooting first. it will do to trace the proble. k good am
