My vhs auto rewinds as expected at the end of the tape. After it has finished it powers off as expected. What I don't understand is the TV also powers off. They are separate components. Not a combo type machine. This happens with the TV and VCR in the master bedroom and the TV and VCR in the kids room.
Some televisions have a feature where the video signal disappears, they power off.when the vcr shuts off,the signal goes and the tv shuts down
V v v v v V H ... what? VHS ... how classic.
Ummm you've either got ghosts ... or the TV's are plugged into an auxilliary electrical outlet on the VCR's - causing them to turn off when it turns off.
Do you have to turn on the VCR's before the TV's can be turned on?
I believe it was all the rage some years back to be able to program for a VCR to record a program - and the stop and shut itself off. And anything plugged into a special electrical outlet in the back of the VCR.
It might be configurable for the VCR not to turn off after playing a movie or recording one - and rewinding. Auto rewind I remember was pretty standard. All the video stores would get mad if you didn't rewind a tape.
