When is the DC16 red light supposed to change to green?

You can see the manual for the DC16 here: (
https://www.dyson.co.uk/medialibrary/Files/Dyson/Support/downloads/UK/floorcare/Manuals/dc16_uk_manual_cb_120710%20pdf.pdf )

Following the troubleshooting manual on page 6, fully charging the battery takes about 3 hours, for a run time of 6 minutes, so I'm not sure where 10 minutes comes from. The battery ships partially charged and was supposed to have been charged 3+ hours before a first use to get a full cleaning span.

It's also noted that you can get red lights if the temperature is out of an optimal range, and if the filter is not seated properly, so these would be things to check as well.
On the general checking list - look at the contacts for the battery and for the charger, make sure nothing is bent or corroded. Corrosion can be generally treated with use of some fine sandpaper or steel wool - be sure to blow the area clear of any steel wool fibers if you go that route. A better electrical contact sometimes will allow charging to get above a threshold voltage that will let the 'I'm charged' light turn green.

Good Luck! :-)

Hello, what is the significance of the lights when charging? The red and the two green lights are flashing when charging. After the time charge (1 night), the Dyson DC 16 does not function, the battery...

yes the reason the green and red light were flashing the way they are is because its a warning to you that the battery is either no longer good or there is problems with your wireing. Also those vaccumes were designed to not charge when there to cold or to hot as a saftey issue.

Dropped off countertop. Will not work now. I have bottom Red and two green lights flashing ??? I have had the battery on the charger< and had it tested. The battery is full charged but still will...

There is a small magnet on the pre- filter that triggers a switch. Pull it apart and you'll see the magnet but the switch is behind plastic.. Make sure it is seated well against the motor unit.

My hand held Dyson vacuum will not charge. Every time I attempt to us it I get 3 charge light on the side flash?

My same symptoms are - after starting charge, Red light is on, then second light turns On. Then for a long time nothing happens. And later I have all three LED flashing.
I replaced battery and nothing changed.

Imeasured Power Supply voltage and found it 24.2v instead 28v as it stated on the label.

I opened it up and found that the three-lid chip marked 431 is faulty.
431 is a voltage shunt, which sets and controls output voltage.
You can use AIC431CUS or TL432 (TL431 has different pinout).
I replaced mine and volatge back to 28.25v and charger is now working as it should.

You can also use any TO-92 431 chip - there is enough room for it.

Good luck!
