In my case it was a minor detail: The capsule holder tray has a small magnet on the top right side, you can feel a light pull when you are inserting it in the machine. This magnet became dislodged from the capsule holder, and the machine won't operate and will give you a continuous blinking red light if the magnet is not in place; I found it when emptying a small bin where I put the used capsules. You just have to put it back in place with two drops of glue, or if you can't find it, just order a new capsule holder.
The picture shows the underside of the capsule holder and the magnet next to the slot it came from.

the cap on cord holder should pop off allowing access to mounting screw. If all else fails home depot carries plastic epoxy that will weld piece back in. follow instructions on epoxy and wear latex gloves.
model numbers mean little tome but what kind of metal, some grades of stainless rust. investigate stainless rust coatings for high temp. if steel, only high temp epoxy paint will assist but willrequire reappklication as burned off or heated/ if aluminum, only special process to repaint can be done for high temp. I don't understand your word dishes the machine.
Check to see if there is any rust or cracks in the coating that came from the factory. Some microwaves use metal underneath an epoxy type coating and if it is exposed, it can cause an arc from the microwave generator. If there are any defects in the surface, it can be sanded down and you can purchase a can of interior microwave paint and put a coat of paint over the defective area. Also look for any exposed metal in the area of the sparks, there should no metal exsposed anywhere, if it is, cover it with the paint. hope this helps.
Once the epoxy cures completely, the solvents/liquids are gone, otherwise it would never cure. Buy a good quality one for use on cooking containers like the BGE.
Make sure the needle is in the highest position before you try putting the bobbin holder in. The bobbin holder has a metal 'finger' which fits into a 'slot' in the housing and it only goes in if you have the needle up.
That piece is a sweep that helps keep the hook clean. It is not necessary for the machine to use, I have thrown away many of them. If you can get your hook put back in you should be ready to go. good luck!
Totally happened to me last week. I discovered that the metal piece that fell off and holds the needle has a small screw that holds it in place. It needs an Allen wrench (tiny one) to tighten it back into place. I just lucked into figuring it out.
