Sounds like something is loading up the motor. Is the guard bumper fouling the blade? It may need to be pulled apart and cleaned out. Maybe try a blast of WD40 anywhere where there's a shaft housing and try rotating the motor shaft manually back and forth. I would focus on the trigger switch first. It should be relatively easy to attach a jumper wire across the switch lead contacts.(Remove the blade for safety) The saw motor should run full speed. If that checks out, replace the switch. If the saw still fails, check motor brushes, then bearings, etc
I assume you have the Ryobi powerhead with the multiple tool shaft (can use it with an edger, blower, trimmer, and pole saw) If so, does the powerhead square drive spin when you squeeze the throttle trigger? Does the chain move freely on the saw end when not connected? Is the attachment fully inserted into the powerhead shaft (small spring-loaded button should pop out of the hole when fully inserted.
Get some Paslode tool cleaner and spray it all around the crevices of the trigger using the tube(straw) provided,while pulling the trigger back and releasing several times. You have debris in the mechanism.
Ihave the same saw and i like it a lot. There is awrench that clips in near the handle that fits the bolt also there is a lockon the front of the saw under the trigger that needs to be press in this will lock the shaft . The bolt is left handed so you have to turn it clock wise to loosen its the oppisite a normal thread so it dosn't loosen whale you are opperating it. Pull back the blade gaurd loosen the bolt remove note the way the washers come off theres only way they fit so look at them as your removeing them . Put the new blade on the outer washer push the shaft lock bottem tighten and its ready to use.
After never using for 6 months, I finall had the need to use my Ryobi saw and had the same problem. Push the switch and it would make one revolution and die. I took the blade off and the end cover oppsote end to epose the other end of the motor shaft. Applied small drop of oil to each. Continued to play with trigger and finally got the motor to get running. Held it on for several minutes. I had to do this several times in order for it to start working properly. Might ne something with breaking in the brushes. Regadless, it works now. Give it a try. Be patient.
rotating the laser in its' housing moves it left and right. The hexagonal bolt on the sides needs to be loosened to do this, then it can also be adjusted up and down. Make sure the trigger to the saw is locked before doing this.
If you have loosened the handle a little and pulling the adjustment trigger didn't allow for movement,you may need to remove and clean the turn table.(don't forget,the handle must be loosened for the turn table to rotate)
Batteries need to be stored fully charged and recharged every month or so while in storage. Batteries need to be kept cool.
