Unplug and leave unplugged for 12 to 24 hours (i.e. ''overnight''). Do a search for a firmware update (not a ''regular'' data update). Download Firmware update and prepare as per instructions. Plug in Playstation, but don't try to ''load'' a game or anything. Perform the firmware update. If there are no firmware updates for it, attempt to install the same firmware as is current. You'll get a message that the firmware is up to date. Then exit the firmware installation, reboot the unit, and then try to load a game.

SOURCE: Playstation Update was interrupted. Now when PS3

you can turn your system settings back to factory default using the Safe Mode.

Step 1: Turn off the PLAYSTATION 3 by holding the Power button on the front of the unit till the Power light is red.

Step 2:

  1. Touch and hold the Power button, you will hear the first beep, meaning the PLAYSTATION 3 is powering on.
  2. Continue to hold the Power button and after about 5 seconds, you will hear a second beep, indicating the video reset.
  3. Continue to hold the Power button and after about another 5 seconds you will hear a third beep and the system will power off (Power light is red).

Step 3:
  1. Touch and hold the Power button, you will hear the first beep, again for the PLAYSTATION 3 to power on.
  2. Continue to hold the Power button and after about 5 seconds, you will hear a second beep for video reset.
  3. Continue to hold the Power button and after about another 5 seconds you will hear a quick double beep. At that point release the Power button. If you succeeded in activating Safe Mode, you will see a message on the screen saying, "Connect the controller using a USB cable and then press the PS button."
  4. Connect a USB cable to the controller and the PLAYSTATION 3 and press the PS button to enter Safe Mode.
  5. Then you will see the Safe Mode menu.

Step 4
: We recommending performing the safe mode options in the following order until one of the options works for you. If one of the options work, do not continue onto the other options.
  1. Restore Default Settings
  2. Restore File System
  3. Rebuild Database
  4. Restore PS3 System

Installing games

If you see an error #8001020F, or you are having issues with your trophies you have run up against the current global issue with the Playstation Network. Most PS3 games will check the trophy status online before they load whether you are actually playing online or not. Sony is aware of the issue and is working on it. The problem is apparently limited to the older PS3 units. The slim units can still connect online. They have not released an ETA at this time. Sony is currently updating their Twitter page with their progress. You can check the following link for updates:

Sony playstation freezes during game play (assians creed)

If you not connected to the internet, there may be some updates to the ps3 system to prevent this from happeing. Some updates are game specific updates and won't load unless connected to internet while game is in the console.

I have need to update my psp ...replay me how can i update>?..

In the PSP's main menu, select "Settings" and scroll to the top and choose "Network Update". Follow the instructions it gives you to update to the newest firmware.

Make sure your battery is full when you do this and have it plugged in. Any interruption during an update to the PSP means disaster.

PS3 may have been doing an update of some kind and you have interrupted it and damaged the system software.
You might be able to download the system software and install it back back it will most likely wipe everything saved on your ps3.
Not sure how to do this as I have never turned off the power during an update ?
Found this site not sure if it will help
as it does not explain how to install the software onto a ps3
https://www.playstation.com/en-au/get-help/ps3-system-software/

but this you tube video explains how to do it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5OIZ73U7v0

Also you could have instead interrupted a need for speed update. It needs to update to play in network mode .

Son interrupted a firm ware update now PSP won't turn on

my investigations suggest that your son has "bricked" the PSP. Basically the memory that stores the firmware is corrupt and apparently only a main board replacement will fix the issue.

A google search found THIS. I have no affiliation with them and have never used them though.. might be worth a call at least??
