Canon PIXMA iP3600 Photo Printer Logo

My Canon iP3600 printer is flashing green, then orange in batches of 10. I tried disconnecting it for 10 minutes, but it doesn't help. Is my printer kaput?

Started flashing when I turned it on. Manual says to disconnect it for 10 minutes which I did, but it keeps doing it when I reconnect. Is this fixable or does it mean my printer is shot?

My files indicate it is a duplex print fault (i.e. double sided print).

Check your printer settings and also check that you don't have a document held up in the print queue or buffer.

1310/E10 - Orange light blinking 10 times Description: Double sided printing cannot be performed (paper size not supported). Resolution: 1. The sizes of paper suitable for double sided printing are A4, Letter, A5 and 5"x7" 2. Load correct paper size and press the [Resume/Cancel] button.

Please look at the above link. Could you duplicate the flashes again and then verify flash count? I don't see 10 as being one of the choices. If it were nine, for example, it is either a communication error between the printer and your computer or you're trying to print directly to the printer with a non-compliant device.

Could you also try a different USB cable? Believe it or not they do go bad. Let's start with the simplest method of troubleshooting before we even think of throwing away a perfectly good printer. Let me know how it goes and then we'll reevaluate.

SOURCE: On my iP3600, as soon

Hi,
Probably your waste ink counter should be cleaned or replaced before resetting but usually you can get away with resetting once.
1. Start with printer OFF
2. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
3. Release RESUME
4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER
5. let green light blink until printhead has finished moving.
6. Select functions below with RESUME, execute with POWER

0 presses - green light - Test Print (exit service for i960)
1 press - orange light - EEPROM info print
2 presses - green light - EEPROM initialise
3 presses - orange light - reset waste ink counter.

This also applies to the i550, i560, i950, i960

Good Luck, I hope this helps?!

Flashing green orange lights

The Canon service info is:
B200/P10 - Orange and green light blinking 10 times Description: A service error has occurred. Resolution: 1. Turn off the printer. 2. Disconnect the power cable. 3. Open the printer cover. 4. Check for any orange protective tape or white polystyrene and remove if necessary. 5. Check that there are no foreign objects in the printer (such as a paper clip) and remove if necessary. 6. Close the cover. 7. Reconnect and turn on. If the above solution has not resolved your error, please contact your nearest Canon authorised service facility using the link at the top of the page.

The error code is usually given for a foreign object present in the print head carriage path, so check at both ends for a crumpled up wedge of paper. If nothing is found, it is most likely that your print head has an over-heating problem and is dying
