For repairs in the US, this is the only place we recommend: www.CamerasAndParts.com They only service Canon Powershots and they are excellent. They are about half the cost of most shops and do such great work! That's the place that most people use for the Canons, most every repair package through them is about $80 - $90 with both parts and labor and the return shipping included. Plus they do the cleaning and servicing for the camera with all their repairs. You won't beat them for service if you have a Canon.

Canon powershot a75 model pc1202 - when trying to take pic, blurred and dark vertical lines. can this be repaired?

This appears to be a CCD sensor problem, an occurrence with these models.
This model: Canon powershot A75 is under a limited extended warranty for this problem until 12/31/2011. Call Canon at: 1-800-652-2666 for repair for this problem.
They will pay postage both ways free, ask for your address and email, send a UPS ship label to their repair facility. They will send an email with the progress report and if it can be repaired.
If it cannot be repaired they can give you a choice to buy a refurbished camera of your choice which is in stock.

Hi,

If this is the case, the camera might have internal damage. Might be better to send it back to Canon delears/shop for repair. Please try below link

LCD screen dark on Canon SD750 camera

Hi

If you can't take new pictures (they are totally black) but you can see old pictures, then either the lens aperture is stuck closed or your CCD is bad. Either means that you need to replace the lens of the camera.

You can look online for a defective camera and make one good one out of the two, but it's difficult to find one with a good lens!

Don't bother going to a store or 'service center' though you can if you would like to verify what I'm about to say. They won't know anything about camera repair, and will want to charge you $150 or more for the repair if they say they will do it. If they do take on the repair, all they will do is send it to Canon which you can do yourself for about $150.

There are AFFORDABLE digital camera repair businesses online, I know, because I own one! We can replace your lens for about $75.

Good luck with your repair,

Canon powershot SD630

I would definately not "finish" breaking it :)! There are places you can send your camera to have it looked at, and it might be something as simple as a dislodged cable.

This site can do an LCD repair, or can just look at the camera and give you an estimate if you need -

Good luck!

If you still need this camera repaired, I can perform the fix. Does it still operate normally otherwise?

Dropped camera-two corners dark

Check what the actual pictures look like when they are downloaded to PC or to print. The problem may only be on the screen. It may be very expensive to replace the screen, but you might be able to live with it?

Good Luck

Cannon powershot sd 300

flash may have been dislodged and out of true. or may be the lens is out of alignment or a shutter blade is not functioning. Dropping them sure does them no good at all. Into the repair shop with it

Wont Focus

If its making a noise when you try to zoom in and out I would suspect physical damage. The more you mess with it the greater the chances of damaging it beyond economic repair. I would take it to the local authorized canon repair shop.
