When on fan symbol only and with a temperature set manually, the oven will not heat. The bottom and top heating elements will heat up seperately on other settings

My oven is DOP705X. It had the same problem on two occasions. First time it was simply the fan element. Second time I thought it was the element so replaced it again, but no fix. Turns out it was the relay for the fan element, it had got sooty and black. A quick clean of the contacts with emery paper and it was all working again. If the relay needs replacing, a new one is £2.88 from RS Components, but replacing it will require a spot of skillful soldering.

De dietrich oven clock tripping out

Hi,

I already explained, you need to replace the big 1.5uF Capacitor that
is reponsible for the voltage drop from 220V to about 10V. You need to
remove the timer controler module from the oven, in the meanwhile you
can shunt the 2 wires that usually are shunt by the relay, and then
buy a new capacitor and replace it with a soldering iron.

Good luck.

Oven Light does not turn off

The problem is due to a faulty door switch, this is part of the door lock mechanism. The reason is that the oven thinks the door is open , this puts on the light and stops some of the oven functions ie the fan the fan element and probably the bottom element.
The answer is to fit a new door lock mechanism.

My oven keeps turning itself off

the oven may be trying to protect itself because of a faulty device that says "I'm too hot". As electric clothes dryers have a thermal high temp limit switch to protect them, look for this device (may be 1 inch round with 2 wires connected) and replace it
