No oil to McCulloch saw

I just put a new chain on my McCulloch PowerMac 320 and now have no oil to the chain. I pulled the pump out and when I push the manual pump button, the oil level in the pump fluctuates (down and back up) suggesting the diaphram in the pump is functional, but I get no oil at all out of the discharge hole next to the bar. It was working great 1 week ago, but now not at all.

What is oil gas ratio in a McCulloch power Mac 320 chain saw

According to the manual, the gasoline to oil ratio for the Power Mac 320 depends on the lubricating oil. McCullough 40:1 Two-Cycle Custom Lubricant is recommended. However, any good SAE 40 two-cycle oil should be used at a 20:1 ratio.

See page 7 of the owner's manual. This is available from ManualsLib, https://www.manualslib.com/products/Mcculloch-Power-Mac-320-3983820.html . The direct link to the proper page is https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1011585/Mcculloch-Power-Mac-310.html?page=7#manual .

I hope this helps.

McCulloch 14" chain saw Model CS 38 EM It quit

Most often there is a dust-oil clog in the bottom of the bar slot which closes an oil passage between the bar slot and the hole drilled half way through the side of the bar. This provides a passage between the thin shim plate with the two bar bolt holes beside the bar and through to the oil tank or pump output. You can remove the bar and chain and punch out the blockage in the bar with a paper clip if the chain is removed. Make sure the wire can be pushed from the bar slot right through the side hole in the bar. A gravity feed chainsaw should leak right out into the slot of the shim plate, a button pumper should squirt out there with the bar removed. With a button pumper you may have a tiny check valve in the line or the push button to take apart, replace the spring or unstick the ball inside the check valve. This is why they went to the gravity feed oil system which just leaks in there and gets picked up by the bottom of the links as the chain races past the passage between the bar side hole and the chain slot.

Mcculloch eager ****** no oil going to chain

The oiler pumps on Macs are the usual suspect, try this:
Oil System Plugged.
  1. Remove the clutch cover, bar, and chain, clean the bar groove, any holes and passages on the rear of the bar (both sides, consider rotating the bar) Clean the saw oiler hole and channel. Start the saw and see if it oils when revved up. If yes reassemble your saw. If no, continue with 2.
  2. Insert a blunted, hooked piece of wire through the oil filler hole and pull the hose in the oil tank out (clean or replace, difficult to determine serviceability). Work your way through the linkage cleaning and replacing any defective parts as you go. Carefully check the hoses for cracks especially at bends and connections. If equipped with an oil pump it is usually behind the clutch (clutch is a left handed thread). Please make extensive notes & some digital pictures will help during reassembly.
Build an IPL number like this:
McCulloch Manual
Illustrated Parts Lists: (IPLs) are fairly simple, on the underside of McCulloch saws is a black and yellow tag; the upper number (“Power Mac 320” 600021H) is the model, below it a serial number (11-18555). These 2 numbers are combined to create an IPL number (“Power Mac 320” IPL number = 11-600021H). The IPL number can be used to find the correct IPL for every McCulloch parts supplier I have found. If the parts supplier only list part numbers the proper IPL is the source for the part number.

If you can not find parts please repost with the IPL number and I will share my secret Mac parts source.

Where is the release to the blade on a 380 powermac

An IPL for a Power Mac 380 can be found here:
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/MCC/11-600141F-Power-MAC-380AS-%282-Bar-Bolt%29-10%2F84-to-02%2F86-IPL-218024-R1/139.11-600141F-Power-MAC-380AS-%282-Bar-Bolt%29-10%2F84-to-02%2F86-IPL-218024-R1.1.59.1.html
on this IPL (may not be your saw)
Item 1 (2 each on this saw) are bar retaining nuts (loosen to adjust bar and chain; remove nuts and clutch cover (chain brake released (brake pulled aft then released)) to remove bar).
Item 140 is the tension adjuster, loosen it some before attempting to remove the bar.
Remove the chain; then remove the bar.
use this to find the correct IPL for your saw.
