CANT REMEMBER MY PASSWORD
1 - There should be an option to send you a new password. Look for a "forgot your password?" link and click it.
2 - If you can't find anything like that, go to http://www.playstation.com and try the same procedure there. There's a "sign in" link at the top right. Click on that, try your password and if it still doesn't work look for a "forgot my password" link. Keep in mind that right now (7:03am PST), the website is down for maintenance. Try this in an hour.
3 - Also remember it's possible that PSN is still having problems and that may be why you can't log in.

The only way to find out ps3 password is hacking into it with brute force attack.
The only simple way to get your password back is calling sony, you get the phone number in your PS3 documentation.

At the screen where it ask you to imput the password enter 7444. the old password will be deleted and you will have to setup an new one.
Just leave it blank to not have a password setup.

Hi the problem is not with your password so dont change any settings ok the problem is not your end everybody else is having the same problem, sony are having some down time at the minute to update their servers and software so just bare with them for a couple of hours and it will be back on shortly.
dont try changing any settings as the problem is their end not yours

their are loads of people asking the same question in the last hour so you are not the only one, you could try going to the sony ps3 web site and check on their for any down time,

i have just got through to sony and they are doing maintenance on the network so just bare with them and it should be back on shortly ok
i just found out the network is down for 12 hours some lucky people may sign in but will soon be cut off its down till 23:30pm GMT time as im in UK time here is now 19:28 so their is another 4 hours left of down time

Thank you for updating the question.Use your PC to go to Playstation Network go to sign in and below the sign-in-id and password entry it says forgot password click on it,and enter the email address you used to sign up to it.
