My new nextbook shows wifi connected, but when i try to set up email, it can't open cnnection to srver. why. please help.

Is it showing wifi icon on the TAB. if it not showing check the wifi turn on or turn off in settings. if it off turn ON then it shows .

Still not works go to settings and check any ip address configure for wifi . click automatically ip address and check

Go to settings

Wifi

Click on router name on wifi search

Click forget then the wifi search for your router name

Click on your router name type your password in and see if that works as you might have put your password incorrect the 1st time

To view your password you need to open up a command prompt (cmd.exe)

Than type in netsh wlan show profile and press enter. This command will show all of the access point you have connected to in the past

Now type in netsh wlan show profile "your access point SSID without the quote" key=clear and press Enter

example if my SSID is ABCD than I would type it like this

netsh wlan show profile ABCD key=clear

It will show you the password of your access point.

Make sure you type in your router's password absolutely correct. It is possible the nextbook's wifi radio is defective, too.

Try going into wifi setting and delete old wifi info

Try connecting it with pressing the wps on your router and on your tablet select the wps

try to hold the home button down and hit clear all then task manager and hit stop all and reboot

Do you mean a physical/hard, on-the-tablet WiFi ON/OFF switch, similar to the POWER ON/OFF switch ? I don't think any tablet or smartphone has that. You turn on/off WiFi with a "soft" switch from Settings-->Network (or WiFi). Hope this helps.

If your WiFi is ON then the station ID should be showing when you look for a wifi signal with your tablet.
You should configure the Access Point with a new password and then attempt to log in with that new password.
You may need to uninstall the driver for the wifi on your tablet and re-install it using a new driver.

You connect your Nextbook to YOUR WiFI HOME NETWORK (not the Internet) FROM THE NEXTBOOK, not from the laptop. On your Nextbook, go to Settings then Wi-Fi. If your Nextbook is already connected to your WiFi home network you will see the network's name there and you are done. If it is not connected, a list of available WiFi networks appears. Tap on the name of your home network and it will connect to it. If your network is password-protected, you will be asked to enter it.
