These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. If the blinking is continious, the fault should be at its main digital board, as these blinks indicates a SDA - SCL probelm, says technically as IIC problem.

Tv wont come on and a red light is blinking. I have a Sony Wide screen projection TV model kp-46wt520
Can you unplug the TV for about 15 seconds, and then plug back in and watch the stand-by light. Tell me how many time the stand-by light blinks in regular intervals. If it doesn't blink at all, you need to change a fuse on the g-board. Once this is done run back through the stand-by blink light process, and more troubleshooting can be done if problem isn't already solved. If the stand-by light just keeps blinking with a count over ten just tell me, and I'll look for other possibilities.

Sony kp tv stand by light keeps blinking and no picture
Hi,
The standby light LED BLINK is in specific numbers, please count that how many time LED BLINKS in specific time and in specific numbers like 1 time 2 time 3 times etc, every blink has its area of fault which processing IC detects, Therefore please count and let me know the number of blinking stand by light and then i can tell you the area of fault and its solution.
Hope you will understand my sayings, if need more clarification write in comments.

My Sony Bravia turns itself off Stand by red light blinks twice.
If you bought it brand new from a dealer, I would take it back or have them come out and look at it. Less than a month old, it is still under the 1 year MFG warranty or the very best a 30 day one.

Try using another power outlet, if you are using a power distribution board then try plugging the TV directly into a wall socket. If using an extension cord then try with another cord. It also maybe that the factory lead that came with the TV is faulty, any of these problems may be restricting the correct amount of amperage required by the TV unit to operate.
