Carrier 58STA/STX furnace false starts even when off or temperature set lower than current.

When i turn My 10 year old Carrier 58STA/STX off, after a few hours it attempts to come back on (I hear a startup sound) and then it stops and keeps doing the same thing after a few minutes. This also happen even if instead of turning the thermostat off I turn the temperature down. Fiddling with thermostat I used to get it to stop the false starts earlier but not anymore. Now I have to shut of the power to the unit itself. After unplugging the power supply and waiting, I can get it to start successfully again but the cycle continues when I turn the unit off. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be. Thanks in advance.

Is it possible the drain is plugged? The newer furnaces have a moisture drain and will shut down if they are blocked., shutting them down and restarting will reset fault, but will come right back if not fixed.

Carrier 58sta/stx inducer moter not receiving power. The blower turns on. Its giving me a code 31 error. Any help is apreciated.

Code 31 is a pressure failure...

Hello JT Beltran,

Cyber-"wisdom" has it as a PRESSURE SWITCH FAILURE
(not closed)...
((DON'T short past it... unless you know what you are doing)).

Usually reserved for heaters with really filthy ... heavily clogged FILTERS... or blocked duct work (too many closed vents)

Once you have eliminated the obvious fire hazards of blocked AIR circulation, checked your filter is INDEED CLEAN &
unobstructed...YOU HAVE the (un-likely) faulty pressure switch...

Hope this helps.

Carrier 58STA furnace code 33, no ignition blower stays on. I have a Carrier 58STA furnace. It's getting a code 33 and never trying to ignite. The blower constantly stays on. It is pushing good air...

33 is a limit switch open take your furnace doors off and there should be a wiring diagram. on this furnace the blower will run if this is open. check rool out swict and linits. it sounds like you have a problem with over heating. how does the fire look ? is the vent blocked ? things like thathttp://www.scribd.com/doc/20861415/Carrier-58pav-Service-Maint i think page 9 has falt codes

My carrier 58sta furncace is blowing cold air constantly

Code 33 is "limit is open or flame switch is open"
FIRST make sure the filter is clean. Turn off unit then turn back on.
if it works but then later gives you a 33 code then you might have a dirty a/c coil (if you have a/c) that will cause the limit to open. 1st try that

No air in two rooms?

without replacing duct size you may damper down the airflow on the vents that have more air by closing them or taking the grill down and blocking them with an insulation type material.

My aprilaire 600 humidifier stays on when the blower shuts off

Make shure the 24 volts is hooked up to power that is only powered up when the blower is running. Some furnaces have a HUM terrminal on control (make shure the HUM is 24 volts some are 120 volts then you must use the transformer supplied with the AP 600). You can use a RP # 50 relay that senses current only when the furnace motor is running on the heating speed. Hope this helps
