There's a little wiggle room there, depending on which version of the OS is on the iPad. You'll go into Settings, then down to Mail,Contacts, Calendars. There'll be (?) a list of Accounts, or, if this is initial set-up, just an option to Add Account. You don't need to know your password for the iPad. As long as you know the password for your iTunes account, you used to setup the account on the iPad for.
