Hannspree is a no-name taiwanese company that uses Hitachi and Toshiba circuits and boards in its devices - monitors and tv's. Because of that it's very rarely supported by other manufacturers. There are only 2 things you can do:
1 - test all the codes for Hitachi and Toshiba, if you're lucky one of them will match. If you're unlucky
2 - the only thing left - do a code scan, maybe a code for another brand will match the commands for the on/off and the volume.

If you have a power cut when tv is on - it shuts down for safety - leave it for 1 hr or overnight - then it works!! I have a UPS as our power here in Mozambique always goes out

your DVD player has an output of Audio and Video, and at the back of your TV has and input A/V
you have to connect a RCA cable to this inputs, your RCA must have 3 connectors yellow for video,red for left channel audio white for right channel audio,
then set your TV to AV1 if connect it to AV input 1,there are two AV input at the back,and also SVideo input,
you have to set it by pressing INPUT or TV on remote or button of your TV.

SOURCE: Hi i have a 42" lcd hannspree tv HSG1102. The
