You have to check the power supply of the tv. Normally led TVs power suppy is integrated with the led driver. If the led driver is faulty then this type of problems can occur.

Open back an replace the video board, or converter board. Get em from Jimmys tv repair.

Eh, lines are usually due to the screen being hit and an electrical open appearing in the panel. Sometimes, if the device has been knocked or fallen, the panels connector may have come loose. I would open the TV and look for the video board to see if the connections are still good. Give them a wiggle and see if the line clears.
BE CAREFUL OF HIGH VOLTAGES INSIDE THE BACK !!!

Which input on the TV and which output on the DVD player are you using? HDMI is the best and easiest. Next is standard video plus audio (3 leads, yellow - video, red and white - audio). If you are using the component input, you can get B&W if you have the leads incorrectly connected. If you're going from component to video in, you might have the same result, I'm not certain. I hope this helps you resolve your problem. Let us know.

When you connect the vizio try changing the resolution settings on your laptop to see if that makes a difference. Could be that your video card output is not really compatible with the higher requirements of the Vizio.

tried to replace the cable wire then tried to hooked up with other component input of the tv unit just to isolate where the problem came from.by the way did you tried to play other dvd disc does the same problem?.

Try another hdmi cable they are sometimes faulty out of the box. if the tv has more than on hdmi input try them with the spare cable.

also check the dvd player set up menue some times you have to choose wich outlet your using like the rgb cables, s cable etc...
