Belkin router Flashing 5 out of 7 lights constantly. Help?

I have the Belkin 4-Port Cable/DSL Gateway Router. It has been running fine until last night. A storm came through, so i unplugged all of my computer components from the wall. After the storm was over, i reconnected everything. It all worked as usual. I also acquired a new computer desk, and disconnected EVERYTHING from each and every component, and set everything up on the new desk. Everything worked fine except the router. the router, as stated previously flashes all four of the LAN lights, and the WAN light. They are flashing orange. It will not connect to the internet, therefore i am running through my modem only. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I agree with atl_dragonki.... Do that and check the network cables themselves to make sure they are adequately crimped to the ends of the wires. Plastic shielding should be crimped into the clear connector, not pulled out and loose, leaving just the wires. Good luck!

Hello, This problem it is most likely be the modem is not connected to the appropriate port. Check connecting the computer to the modem to verify the modem is working.

I can"t get my lap top to work with my 4 -port router

Is it a wireless router or you are trying to connect to the router with the cable.
If it is a wireless router then check the wireless connection.

Trying to connect a wired network wirelessly to a router

No. You'll need to run a "cross-over" Ethernet cable from one of the "LAN" ports on the "downstairs" router, connecting to the "WAN" port on another router that you will need to buy, and place "upstairs", and connect the 4 devices to the 4 "LAN" ports.

Or, run a long "straight-through" Ethernet cable from your DSL-modem (or cable-modem) that is "downstairs", and move your wireless router "upstairs", and connect the 4 devices to the router's "LAN" ports.
Your laptop "downstairs" should still be able to connect (wirelessly) to the wireless-router that is "upstairs".

Can't connect to internet when router is connected.

You might try this:
1 power off or unplug your cable or DSL Modem.
2 Power off your router
3 waiti about 30 seconds,
4 plug in your cable/DSL modem
5 wait until the modem boots up (all lights except activity should be on)
6 power up your router.

Did that work?

Need assistance on seting up a belkin router

Connect network cable from your current DSL modem to the WAN port (or internet port) on the back of the wireless router. It should detect the connection automatically.
If not, then try running the CD software that came with the device. It should setup everything correctly.

Belkin Wireless G Router causes loss of internet connection

Does your router have one LED lamp for each "wired" port?
If so, does unplugging the Ethernet-cable (the one that connects to your desktop PC) cause the lamp to go off?
Does reconnecting that cable cause the lamp to go on?

Also, on your desktop computer, there could be a lamp right beside where the Ethernet-cable connects into your computer.
Again, disconnect the cable, and reconnect the cable, to see if that lamp goes off/on.

Have you tried a different cable?

Do *NOT* connect your desktop computer to the 'WAN' port on the router -- connect it to any of the "LAN" ports.

NEW BELKIN WI FI CABLE ROUTER NOT WORKING AFTER 4 DAYS OF USAGE

I would try a hard reset of the router to reinstall the original settings. Then reconfigure and test again. If ther is no change then as you probably suspect the router has failed. Let us know if you have any other questions and please don't forget to rate this posting.
