It sounds like a bad panel or possibly a bad digital board. This board is mounted on the back of the LCD panel. Have it checked by a repair shop.

You either have a malfunctioning LCD controller(T-con) or the panel itself is faulty. The T-con is very inesxpensive and easy to replace but the panel is gonna cost you nearly as much as a new tv. Let me know if you want to give the t-con a shot so that I can guide you to fix it.

Hi It could be a power supply problem or an inverter board problem or something internal having to do with the backlighting of the unit. remove the inverter, and look at the back side and you will see a hot spot, now on the other side of that hot spot, re-solder the service mounted components and that should take care of your problem.
