That sounds like a condensation problem as when the microwave is cold the warm air from the kitchen that is laden with moisture is condensing and upsetting the control panel.

You've broken the door catch. You'll have to take off the outer casing and check whether they assembly has simply come loose or whether it's broken and in need of replacement.
