There is no reset button. You will need a control board.

Replace the fuse with a ceramic fuse from Home depot! costs less than $3 and it will fix the problem. I had all the same problems as everyone else, you name it my microwave had it! you must remember replace it with a ceramic fuse! not a glass one. I know people say its the switchboard and all that nonsence but I promise you, the fuse plays a majoe roll in the microwave not working properly. Even though it doesnt look broken, a junky fuse can cause your appliance to do very strange things. I replaced mine 6 months ago and it works like its fresh out of the box.

SOURCE: How to stop the beeper and reset the "code' light on panel?

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a minute, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it, and please reply back with your model number so we can help you.

SOURCE: setting time and getting numbers to work

Is your microwave a portable model so that you have access to the power cord? If it is, unplug the cord and leave it off for a few minutes. Then replug and it may reset. This seems such a simple solution, however, sometimes a simple solution is the answer. If your microwave doesn;t respond, I would consider the age and condition of it and consider replacement. Repair can be expensive and the price on these appliances is now quite reasonable. Good luck to you.

Time showing on panel. No functions work.when I touch any button,

You can try to reseat the serial ribbon but it sounds like a board problem. to reseat the ribbon, unplug unit. remove the case for counter top models, otr models need to remove the grille, and the control panel screw, lift up and pull out at the top. the serial ribbon is a flat set of wires at the top of the board lift on the connector latch to loosen the ribbon pull it out, push it back in and relatch. close up the control panel before plugging back in. if it works great, if not it is time for a new microwave boards are very expensive.

Giving -F3- display and beeping 3 times, does not respond

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, you have a shorted / failed membrane keypad.

Until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If you would like to have us do this repair for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your model number) for more information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Beeping and P3 shows

I would assume that trouble code is F3?

F3 on a GE / Hotpoint microwave means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

If the oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and please do not leave it running unattended.

Microwave oven panel starting beeping from and doesn't work

You either have a shorted keypad or another problem with the control panel assembly.

We regularly repair these control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week with a one-year guarantee.

Direct spraying of cleaners on the keypad and steam from the cooktop can damage the controls.

Always spray non-ammonia cleaner on a soft cloth (not a paper towel which can scratch) and gently wipe the keypad.

Always use the vent fan when cooking on the stove top to keep steam and grease out of the controls.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number) for more information & help.

Microwave issues

Is it like someone is pushing the Power or Power Level pad?

If so, I would say your keypad is failing with a shorted Power (or Power Level) pad.

If you might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved. It's at http://www.microwavedisplay.com/keypad_replacement.pdf

We have critical safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

Beep off

No theres no beep shut off. You could open the unit and risk getting the heck shocked out of ya and disconnect the small speaker mounted on the circuit board. You should take the unit to someone who knows about microwaves to do this for you.
