Kenneth Cole Watch 3574 pin in length has broken

The pin in the band has broken. One length was removed, now another pin has broken. The watch is very heavy. Are there pins that would be more suitable for this watch?

    Thanks

I am not sure of the proper name? It's the pin that attaches the links to the band. Is there a heavy duty type pin, for such a heavy watch?

Are you talking about the band pins or the lug pins? most watch repair stations will have lugs and pins, and will replace for about $5...any more and you will be getting ripped off. Lug pins are a pain and unless you have the proper lug tools, you can end up scratching the finish of the watch...be careful!

Need a link for band

  • The original bands for that watch are very difficult to come by. But having a spare part or two never hurt either.
  • Hope this helps.

Shorten the length of a Kenneth Cole "New York" watch band

With the watch on your wrist, check to see how many links need to be removed from your watch. Your watch should fit comfortably on your wrist. Remove the extra links with your paper clip or push pin.To remove the links from your watch, press on the small pins with your tool that are holding the links in place. The watch band should now separate allowing the pin to become free, and you can now remove the pins first and then the links one at a time until you have removed the desired amount of links. Reattach the watch band when you are done removing the links. To reattach the watch band to your watch, simply fit the end links into each other. To complete the resizing, use your push pin to re-insert a joining pin.

Leather watch band

I might have the solution. Is it a rectangular watch with a leather strap? It sounds weird, but I have a watch with no brand name on it (bought yesterday from K-Mart at $9.99) with the model #A126-06. The package insert said "Advance Watch Group." I googled them, and they manufacture watches for Kenneth Cole, Tommy Bahama and a bunch of other designers.

I was really surprised because K-Mart is the last place I'd buy a watch, except that it looked like my broken Raymond Weil tank watch.

I suggest you go to K-Mart and see if you find a watch that looks like yours.

The back of this watch is marked as follows:
V377
Stainless Steel Caseback
2035 Movement
Base Metal
Bezel
20279knx
A126-06

Broken band

Yeh, just go to a watch repair shop and they will have the pin for your watch. If they don't, they are not a repair shop. Don't go to a jewelry store, they probibly won't have it. Look for a true watch repair shop in the phone book. Pins like that are in stock at any repair shop. Good Luck!!

Shortening the Length of a Metal Wrist Band

I just did this for my wife's new Kenneth Cole wrist watch rather easily. You don't need a screwdriver, but a short section of a paper clip will do. I just set the band on a raise surface to allow room for the pin to be pushed out using the paper clip. For this watch, one side of the pin resembles the slotted side of a small screw - but it is not a screw. This is the side that bulges up a bit to help the pin stay in place. I believe if you punch it out from the opposite side it will fall off quickly, but if you do from the bulged side it, too, will come out but with some resistance. To reattach the band you need to punch the pin into the slot in such a way that its bulged side is on top otherwise you may end up with a bent pin. You must also first line up the hole with the paper clip before reinserting the pin. Good luck.
