I've followed the supplied instructions. I turn the lower oven on, access and set the clock but as soon as I turn the lower oven off it resets to initial settings. I feel I must be missing something blindingly obvious.
You are, that sounds like your setting the timer for cooking not the clock.....switch the hole thing off at the wall then put it back on, the clock should flash, then set it, check the manual for button config.
infact i just read it, & its on page 10 2nd paragraph on right hand side...........
You can only change the clock when no other clock function is
active.
ie switch it off & back on at the wall.
1.Press the < > clock function button repeatedly until
the< > O(pic of a clock) and symbols light up.
2. Set the clock using the rotary selector.
The setting is applied automatically
I have done that repeatedly but still no joy. My process is:
(1) switch off appliance at wall (2) Turn back on. Display is blank, nothing illuminated. (3) Pop out dial for lower oven and turn anti-clockwise one click to light symbol (4) press until clock symbol appears (5) adjust time and allow to set (or press to accept it) (6) Rotate bottom oven dial one click clockwise (7) Clock display goes out but is recovered by rotating the oven dial within a couple of seconds otherwise it resets (8) Push the dial back in and the whole thing resets and I lose the time I set. All very frustrating for a brand new appliance
Managed to contact Neff today. Looks like a faulty oven and engineer call is needed. I will update once it is resolved just in case someone else has a similar problem
I have heard that someone else (mother of a colleague) had precisely the same problem with a brand new oven and it ended with the oven being replaced. Neff have yet to get back to me despite an assurance they would either on Saturday or yesterday.
It was a naff Neff. The Neff engineer called and was stumped by the issue I had, recommending a replacement cooker. New cooker was delivered in due course and works exactly as intended. For the sake of clarity, the "0.00" display should appear as soon as power to the oven is switched on. The process of setting the clock etc follows from this point with no need to turn on the lower oven. This was not the case with my first cooker.
