My guess is it's in the oven box towards the top. looks like an ice pick and screws to the oven wall. Find where the wire feeds through the wall and remove the access cover behind it. It can be disconnected and checked for ohms. No model number, so replacement parts are easy to look up by model number.

SOURCE: Replaced bake unit in Frigidaire
the pop is most likely an electrical short it will be in the back of the stove, that is unless your new element shorted .when cool you can run your hand around it and you should feel no blisters, smooth only.other wise you are doing a visiual inspection and looking for an obivous burnt wire/connection.God bless ,tom

Hi, It sounds like you need to change the on=ven ignitor. Even tho it glows, it is weak and will not open the gas valve consistantly. It is a very common problem. Please let me know if I can assist you with part# or how to replace the part.
Thanks
Vic

Hi This means a
loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is
bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it
should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the
door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and
should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
