Hi Liz, You are not getting The green light means either the power ie AC is not reaching the TV or the power supply section inside the TV has broken down. Your guess is right about the power cord and the power unit within the TV.The Problem will be there within your guess. But I think you will need the help of a good technician to isolate the fault and rectify it. Good luck.
Go to Best Buy sells them, they are cheap. I own the same TV Unless there are other implements like games, dvd, etc. You don't need a cord with the noise suppresors. A general PC or appliance cord will do.
Hope this helps.......Bob
Sounds like you are missing your 5VDC standby voltage from the power supply. You either have a blown fuse or a defective power supply. Did this happen out of the blue or after a T-storm???
Hello, it does not power at all, means not eaven a power light blinks in the front of the TV, which also means there could be no power getting to the TV through the cheater cord, or a completely busted power supply due to shorted power regulators, lightning damage or surges in the power line. The easiest is to check the outlet, the power strip braker if you are using one, the power cord going to the TV. The rest of things would be inside the TV(power supply and power regs etc....)
