Hello Sunny;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

1.) Poor air flow:
If your dryer is plugged up with lint it will not heat. In the back of your dryer is a air distribution manifold. It is elongated and round at the bottom. There are just a couple of screws holding it on. Unplug your unit, remove the manifold, usually at the bottom is where it is plugged. Also clean around the blower wheel.

2.) Bad door switch - If the drum is not turning.
If you hear a clicking sound when you push on the plunger the switch is good. If not:
Remove the top cover. There are two clips in the back, one on the right and one on the left. Using a spatula or thin blade push in to release, then slide the cover back. You should be able to see the door switch. Remove the two wires from the switch. With a multi-meter set on the lowest ohms check the switch. If you get a reading other that '0' the switch.

3.) Thermostats:
This is located inside the dryer on the side of the electric heater assembly. You must ohm this out as above.

Ohm this out as well while holding the button in. Once again should read '0' if good.

SOURCE: samsung dryer is not drying and its new

It ended up being a easy fix. Our old dryer was working fine and had been ran an hour before I hooked up the new Samsung dryer. Therefore I assumed when the new dryer did not work there had to be something wrong with it. There ended up being nothing wrong with it and it was my dryer vent. It was barley plugged which caused it to not heat up properly. I was told that the new dryers have a lot more sensors on them and its very sensitive about needing a clean vent to vent out the heat. My vent was not very dirty, but it had just enough build up of lent in it, it caused the dryer to not vent properly and it would keep shutting the flame off. Blew it out with my leaf blower and now it heats up and dry quick. I hope this helps

SOURCE: DRYER RACK DOES NOT DRY CLOTHES

try timed dry cycle instead of the auto-sensing setting. In your drum if you have auto dry such as less dry normal dry and more dry, There is a sensor sometimes in the drum and sometimes in the exhaust right after the blower. If in the drum then your clothes brush by this and if moisture is sensed then it keeps on drying. With your rack the clothes can't touch the sensor so it tells your dial to turn and that items are dry which in fact are not. Try this and see how it does.

SOURCE: Samsung Electric Dryer

This may be a problem with your moisture sensor or the control that read the sensor. If it is under warranty have Samsung fix it for free. Make sure the cycle settings are correct before tinkering. First make sure the electronics are not too dusty. You could blow them off or vacuum them. Dirt particles can conduct electricity and make it read wrong. Next check the electrical connection for the moisture sensor. See if its location is in the manual. If it doesn't work after some tinkering asked the service for the dryer about possibly replacing the sensor but first try hard to get it to work.

Samsung electric dryer model dv520aep xaa 02 leaking water under drum (according to tech), is not drying, and when unplugged water leaks from electric cord! screen reads"replace thermostat". only 5 yrs....

you might need a repair man, or if you know how you can check things like make sure it has 220 volts you might need heat element or it has one of the sensors blown you need an electric tester to check them you can find videos on youtube
that will show you how. if you are able to sounds like your vent is clogged up that will make it blow the sensors in the back of the dryer, good luck!

Samsung dryer won' shut off dv520aep/xaa

If it's in the timed cycle, the timer motor is probably bad, preventing the timer from advancing through the cycle.

If it's in the auto dry cycle, the moisture sensor could be bad, so the dryer thinks the load is still wet.

My Samsung DV5451AEW/XAA will not dry cloths. The vent tube is not plugged and air flow is great through the whole vent system. How do I get to the heating element?

  • I am assuming this is electric. Yes?
  • Do you get any heat when there is no clothes in it?
  • Have you checked your voltage at the receptacle? If not 220V, if you have the old tube fuses, then one may be blown. If you are getting good heat with no clothes then replace your high limit thermostat. Lots to check before heading for the heating element. As for heating element they are usually either in the back of the tub or a tube on the right hand side of the dryer. You need to take the front panel off.
