Replace the stereo in the Jeep.
Aftermarket or factory your choice.
There is no way to self resolve this problem...
And any junk yard stereo you buy will need an activation code. Just buy a good Pioneer or Kenwood stereo and install it. Problem solved. No more BS
From Hyundai Owners Manual: Er6 - DISC ERROR - CHECK IF THE DISC IS INSERTED CORRECTLY IN THE CD PLAYER. MAKE SURE THE DISC IS NOT SCRATCHED OR DAMAGED.
Error 6 means your laser isn't reading disc... needs replaced pick up
laser. I would try first to insert a clean up CD and test your CD
Player with an
original CD, if the problem persist,
you have to go to fix it to a specialist.

I had the same problem with my cd player. Are you using burned disc in the cd player? I had to bring mine in and have a new radio installed good thing it was still under warranty at the time. I have not have the problem since.
Unfortunately 90% of the time when you get error codes from the CD player/changer it means that there is a mechanical failure in the CD player/changer unit itself and it usually requires CD player/changer rebuild or replacement... First make sure you have entered the correct anti-theft code. If battery power has been disconnected recently than the stereo display will read CODE if the incorrect anti-theft code is entered the display will read ERR1 thru ERR3. If this is the case you'll have to get the correct anti-theft code. Note; If you enter the incorrect code three times the stereo locks up. Disconnect the battery for more than 30 seconds and then retry. FYI;Never use adhesive labels or protective disc covers on recordable CD's. Recordable CD's are actually thicker than pre-recorded CD's. Automotive players and changers use rollers to draw the disc into the unit. The added thickness of an adhesive label or protective disc cover may cause the disc to jam. Also CD players and changers are exposed to high temperatures inside the vehicle. High temp will cause the labels adhesive to soften which may cause the labels edges to curl or cause it to bubble. Either one may cause the disc to jam. If the player can not be disassembled and have the discs removed successfully than it will have to be replaced. -hope this helps.
Sorry bud, replace the cd player.... it's probably worn out. Check out the JVC, Sony, Pioneer and Alpine units for quality at affordable prices. HarmanKardon is better - except on your wallet :P
I have only seen this problem once and the only fix was to replace the cd player. I would suggest to get an aftermarket cd player from electronics store and have them install it. The factory option is over 700 installed. sorry
From Tiburon owners manual: Er6 - DISC ERROR - CHECK IF THE DISC IS INSERTED CORRECTLY IN THE CD PLAYER. MAKE SURE THE DISC IS NOT SCRATCHED OR DAMAGED.
Some recordable compact disc media, such as CD-R and CD-RW, may not comply with the standard CD format used in automotive CD players. When these CD's are used, customers may encounter error messages, skipping, or delaminating of the labels, which can cause an eject failure. It is important to question whether these kinds of CD media are being used. When customers encounter these symptoms, check the system with a known playable CD. Explain that the media may not be compatible with some automotive CD players. Replacing or exchanging the CD player will not address these issues.
