I saw some photos recently of a LeClip lapel watch and there appears to be a separation where the round portion holding the movement sits against the clip construction... that is where I would try and pry it apart. Here's some info on leClip FYI...

The brand of these watches is "Le Clip" and they are not Swatch nor are they by the Swatch Group. They should not be mistaken for the Swatch Clip watches or the Clip prototype. The watches made by Le Clip were also from the eighties and that shows. They were very trendy in those days and a worldwide success. There were a big range of different ones and there even exist Maxi's, just like Swatch! Today they are very hard to find. The biggest problem wit Le Clip watches is that they were not designed to get a new battery! I do not know how to open it, I have one here but I do not see how to do it.
Biederman & Company has become the United States ad agency for Le Clip, a Swiss-made watch that may be clipped to a place of your choice. According to Barry Biederman, the watch has already caught on in Switzerland, Britain, France and Spain, where 500,000 of them are expected to be sold this year.
With the United States added, the sales goal for 1987 is two million.
The watch is being made by Le Clip S. A. of Geneva, and it has set up an American marketing arm called Le Clip U. S. with Steve Bochner, formerly a regional sales manager of Swatch Watch U.S.A., as managing director. Le Clip will have a suggested sales price of $35.
The budget for the October-through-December introduction in New York will be about $500,000, and national spending next year should be $2 million to $3 million. All in good time.

SOURCE: what to do with watch repair kit

Unless the watch back has notches on it, you want to look around the edge of the watch and find a little lip. When you find the lipp, use one of the knives and pry open the back. Take one of the tweezers and pull out the battery, you could also use one of those handy-dandy screwdrivers to pry out the battery. Put the new battery in laying exactly like the old one , then proceed to close the back, making sure that the little notch (on the INSIDE lip of the back case) lines up with the stem and crown (the part used for setting the watch) so not to break it. The back openers and the knives are just differant ways to opn the back of the watch. Sometimes watches have screws on the back that need to be taken off in order to open the back case. The case vise is to minumize the wear and tear on your hands. The tweezers are for taking out the battery. If you have anymore questions PLEASE feel free to contact me I will be glad to assist you further! Good Luck!!!

Hi Susan, most Watches will require a tool to remove the back, some use a knife like tool, and some use an adjustable key type tool to fit the slots of the watch cover, so that you can unscrew the back off. Sometimes you can use a thin knife too, be very careful not to cut yourself, and also not to damage the rubber gasket. The gasket sometimes will need replacement on some watches if they are waterproof. I recommend having a watch expert look at it if you feel you can't do this yourself.
Also the tools are available on eBay. I hope this helps you. Joe

SOURCE: the display went blank, changing

Unless the new battery is dead that would explain it, but assuming the battery is good it indicates a failure in the electronic module and should be considered done.

Tip & How-To about Watches

Changing Watch Batteries
Lots of posters ask "what is the battery in my (name of watch)" with a view to changing it yourself. This is a bad idea for many reasons. You don't have the tools or knowledge to remove a rotary screw on back, or the gasket sealant for a waterproof watch. Some fashion watches have 4 traditional screw and need professional grade jeweler screwdrivers. Also, there are about 20 batteries commonly used in watches, in various sizes and internal technology, Lithium Ion, Silver Oxide and Manganese Alkaline. If you buy them, you generally have to buy 10!

Don't sweat the details. Just take the watch to your local jeweler. They have all the batteries at hand and the tools to remove the back. It is done whilst you wait for $8 to $15!

I have a Pulsar Y147-8120 watch from the 1980s and have lost the old battery. Do you have the number of a battery that would fit?

It is often written in tiny engraving. The jeweler will know.

How do you get battery out of watch? Do I have to take out all screws and remove top piece?

The back of the watch has six rectangular notches around the edge. Using a jeweler's case wrench and 4-pin vise to hold the watch align the three teeth of the watch to three of the notches on the back and turn counter-clockwise. Considering that the tools alone are going to cost you a minimum of $30 - $40, and then you'll have to purchase a battery for $5 - $7, I'm going to recommend that you have the battery professionally replaced for $10 - $15 at your local jeweler. Keep in mind, I'm also considering the fact that you suggested dismantling the watch in order to change the battery. This is obviously an indication that you have no experience in the most basic servicing of a timepiece and to ensure that your timepiece isn't damaged, you really should leave this to a professional. The watch stopped working. It is solar powered, but does not work.

Take the watch to the jewelers, if the rechargeable battery has failed or solar power issue, it needs to be checked out by a professional.

Versace watch ( wristband)

Same place where you bought the watch, mate, same place where you bought the watch. Surely the watch is a Versage but the wrist band can be any band you can find at any good watchmaker of jeweller. ;)
