I use an SD card reader. Found one at Staples for about $20. It connects through USB.

PICTURES NO LONGER TRANSFER TO MY COMPUTER

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

Want to download pictures from pdc700 polaroid camera

Try to download the required software from Polaroid. Every computer needs software (and a driver) so it can transfer the pictures from a camera to the computer. The software always comes with the camera. but if you don't know where the CD is, try the firm of your brand.
If that won't work (some brands no longer exists and some on't support that long) you always could try some free software like from Ulead, Pixir, BeFunkey, Gimp, Photoshop express. Or if your camera does have a memory card, buy a external card reader and use that to transfer the pictures and videos to your computer.

I cant transfer pictures back to the camera

If you want to send pictures FROM the computer TO the camera, you must use a card reader. You can drag-n-drop pictures to the card the same way you transfer any other files. Be aware that if you've done any editing to the picture then the camera may not display the picture.

I connected the cable and managed to transfer one picture from my Nikon S8100 to the computer. The computer tells me that there are no more pictures to transfer, but I cannot find them!!! Where should I...

When you connect your Nikon camera to your computer some program is automatically loading up and then transferring your pictures over. If you haven't deleted the picture from your camera then reconnect your camera back to your computer. Follow the same steps you did the first time but watch the screen carefully. When the program tells you it is copying the picture over it should have a window open to the directory that it is using for the transfer. You should be able to get to that directory in your computer to work with your picture.

If the program deleted the picture from your camera then just shoot another picture so that you have something to work with. Most programs use some kind of a naming convention when it is saving your pictures, Usually it is a name made up of the date you are transferring the picture on as well as a number. The program should open a window before the transfer is completed to allow you to use your own naming convention.

File error

Hi,
It is picture file that stops file transfer function, delete that picture and continue or go to memory card through my computer > mass storage drive and delete that file or copy rest of files and past in computer some where like my documents etc.
That particular picture file DSC03270.jpg is incomplete/ corrupted and causing problem in files transfer operation. Either delete it or bypass it and transfer rest of files from camera.
After transferring files to computer, format memory card to avoid any problem in next time as option would be in camera menu.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

When you remove the card from the computer, do you use the "safely remove hardware" function? If you don't, the card can become corrupted enough that your camera no longer recognizes it.
