If the red light is on that means the power is not. Ensure you have pressed the power button on the TV. Also make sure you have a good source plugged in. In response to the above response, it may be a capacitor, but it's unlikely and you would be able to press the power button and see the light flash and then stay solid usually. You can also try the remote to power on the TV, just make sure the batteries are I properly.

Many LED TVs and other electronics have bad capacitors on their power supply boards. You can visually inspect them by opening the TV and looking for capacitors with bulging tops. If tou see any, replace them all in the power board section. Check to see if your TV is still under warranty first though.

Plasma tvs do not have "back lights" LCDs do. you probably have a bad driver board along with the upper or lower buffer board or maybe both, best to have a tv shop look at it.

Plasma Hyundai 42'' TV ,NO SOUND OR PICTURE

most times then not it's the capacitors on your power board that blew there for not supplying the tv with enough power if you open it up and check the capacitors it should be leaking some kind of liquid or the tops have bubbled up. its an easy fix cost>>2 dollars each

Panasonic TH-42PX80U won't turn on.

You are missing 15volts. If this is a new TV, it could be as simple as a plug not fully seated on the power supply. Regardless, the repair should be covered by warranty and Panasonic is one of the best when it comes to taking care of the customer. Ifd nI can be of further assistance, let me know
