My memory card was full. I bought a new one. When I tried to format the memory card I got an error message "Filesys error e00100". I got another memory card and got the same message. My shutter will not press.

Ummm, the actual manual says:
NOTE: If you are using a 1 GB or larger memory card, video recording may stop automatically after 58 mins. Press the Shutter button to start a new video file.
(Note: or larger memory card)

Preliminary searching leads me to believe that this camera won't take anything larger than a 1GB memory card.

When I try to take a picture with my Pentax W60, it will focus but not take the picture no matter how long I hold the button

I have the same issue, no message appears - every now and again after I push & hold the shutter button (sometimes 4-5 times, 5-10 seonds) it will finally take the picture. But, again - once it focuses it doesn't take the picture when the shutter ****on is fully engaged.

Shutter

You mean the lens protector doors, not the camera shutter. This seems to be a problem on this camera. Aparently you bumped it against something or dropped it. The only way I know of to fix this is to take it apart and set the arm of the spring again into the side as it should be. You cant do it with out takeing it apart.

Slow shutter speed

from the manual: Using Shutter-Priority Mode 1. Set the mode dial to S (shutter-priority) and a yellow arrowhead on the screen points to the current shutter speed. Press the jog dial and the current shutter speed turns yellow. 2. With the current shutter speed displayed in yellow, rotate the jog dial to select the speed you want to use. 3. Take the picture. If a workable aperture isn?t available for the shutter speed you?ve selected, the shutter speed indicator on the screen flashes when you press the shutter button halfway down. You can use the setting as is, or press the jog dial down to select the shutter speed again and rotate it to select a new shutter speed.

Canon A520 Everything works, except the button you take pictures with. It wont work.

I need more information about what symptoms you are experiencing. I am going to guess that your shutter is stuck closed. This would cause a blank image to show on the view screen and your captured pictures. The regular icons and text would still display normally. Is this what you are seeing? If not please explain further what is happening and I will respond again with more information. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
