For me to help you I need some more information, such as what have you done to try and get it to work, and what leads you are using to connect the two.. Have you followed the instruction that came with the speaker exactly, as what you are trying to do is quite simple and it should work readily.
Pls bear with me, have you tried not using the HDMI/DVI cable but simple straight connection PC > Standard 15 pin VGA cable and audio cable that has "stereo mini-plug" on both ends to the PC IN of the Samsung?
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
The sound bar only needs sound input from the tv so optical cable connection will work fine. HDMI cable will also work fine. Use the one that you have available.
Wanda, unplug TV, wait 10 min. plug back in. Make sure no setting are on mute,
Internal amp. may be faulty, if TV in very good condition and not to old you could buy and try a sound bar which has its own amp. and may work well for you. some as little as $40.00 on sale.

If you have Samsung wireless and need to pair them, then select sound, addition setting arrow down to Bluetooth ( may not be visible until you arrow down). Follow those instructions.
below this you will find how I set up old headphones.
I have a Samsung SU 4K, I also have an old wireless head phones. I did not want to buy expensive Bluetooth.
how did I make these work. First I purchased a digital optical convertor for $20. Since my headphones are 2 channel, I connected the base (red/white) to the convertor. Then I had to access Samsung menu audio. The Samsung TV has the manual built into TV terrible. Since I did not want the TV speakers off I had to find how to enable the output to headphones base. Select sound from menu , then additional settings , set audio format to PCM, also HDMI to PCM.
Can I suggest that you unplug all the cables from the sound bar to the TV and disconnect both units from the mains. Attached the sound bar cables to the TV and then reconnect both units to the mains. Switch them both on and try again.
