I am guessing it is a 580 Super E. If so, go to the above link and search for 580 Super E. It will, although slowly, give you a click able link that will let you view specifications. There are a few options, so I will let you calculate the final weight.
Click on the link, I can only talk to you in automotive terms. I know nothing about a backhoe. The sending unit has to have voltage, correct? Get a resistor for empty and one for full, If the gage acts proper to the resistors, the problem is the sending unit.
