On every device, PC, laptop, tablet or phone you need a program to transfer files to and from. The device has to recognise the device that is connected. It also needs instructions what to do.
On the PC, you also need a driver for the connected hardware, And if you want to move files (Pictures are files too) you need a transfer program. Most camera's do have a CD, with the needed software for Windows and Mac. Phones and Tablets need an App. Most transfer and phone view apps are free. And yes there are also apps you can buy, but even for Apple you can get photo (transfer and view) apps for free.
If you have an Android, goto the Google store and search for a free photo app and install it. (Snapseed is great and free)

SOURCE: Says camera is not connected to computer

I found this on another site. You have to set the camera itself to Mass Storage mode in order to work with Windows 2000. The steps are below. As soon as I did and plugged the camera back into the USB cable, Picture Project recognized the camera as connected, installed the mass storage driver for it and requested a restart of the PC. Able to access the memory card and download pictures.

On the camera itself, unplug the USB, turn it on and...

Press MENU....
Press ▲▼to choose SETUP...press OK...
Press ▲▼to choose INTERFACE...press OK...
Press ▲▼ to choose USB...press OK...
Press ▲▼to choose MASS STORAGE...press Ok..
Press MENU to exit...
Then plug it back into the USB cable.

Good Luck

SOURCE: I can't transfer my photos. Transfer doesn't come

Make sure camera is off. After you plug your camera into your computer turn camera on. This should open the program for you. If not, right click on START button, go to EXPLORE, find your camera in the list. right click on camera, go to OPEN WITH. Select the program you want to use and VIOLA, you're in.

Hope this info was helpful to you. Good Luck!

How do i transfer files, contact, photos to a computer

What kind of cell phone do you have? Is it a smartphone?
If you're an iPhone user, then it would be easy to transfer photos to your computer. With the iPhone USB cable and a computer, you are able to transfer photos from iPhone to computer easily, but before moving photos, you should shut down auto sync of iTunes to prevent the data in their tablets. You can use your computer to cut or copy photos from iPhone to computer. You will need to connect iPhone to computer with the USB cable to finish the job. The phone will be recognized as a digital camera, and it allows you to view the Camera Roll contents on your computer. So you can transfer photos from iPhone to PC for a backup.
If you want to transfer other files like contacts, notes, messages from iPhone, please take a look at this guide. http://www.leawo.org/tutorial/transfer-photos-from-ipad-to-pc.html

Photos on verizon tablet were not stored on sd card, how do I get them on sd card

According to Verizon support:
"From the Device to a Removable SD Card This feature is not available on the Verizon Ellipsis 7 Tablet"

However, you can transfer photos from the tablet to a computer; and then you can transfer them to a removable SD card if you have an external USB SD card port reader or one that's PC integrated.

According to Verizon customer support:
From the Device to a Computer
  1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
    1. If necessary, select and hold the status bar (at the top) then drag to the bottom.
    2. Select Connected as a camera / an installer.
    3. Select Media device (MTP).
  2. Launch Windows Explorer.
linote.gif Using the computer keyboard, press Windows+E ( windows_key_logo.jpg+E) keys.
linote.gif Alternatively, right-click Start then click Open Windows Explore.
  3. Using Windows Explorer, navigate: QMV7A.
linote.gif If you have a microSD card, you may transfer files to that location by navigating: QMV7A > SD Card.
  4. Utilize the computer to copy video/picture files from the following folders to the preferred folder(s) on the computer:
    • DCIM/Camera
  5. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
