You should return the device. It sounds like a problem with the hardware or the software. A good many rooted versions of android exp. these same problems also.

I take it your tablet is an android os first turn off the tablet by holding the power button till it shuts off then while it's of press and hold the power and volume down buttons at the same time after about 10 seconds you should see an unfamiliar screen most likely it will look like a little green robot.. once it appears let go of both button after a few seconds you will see options list first clean the cache partition and any other option that says clean to scroll down the list use the down volume button and to enter the choose use the power button as enter once that's done choose the option to restore to factory then the screen will change saying no no no no no yes no no choose the yes it should do it's thing just wait for it to finish some devices auto reboot but if yours doesn't just choose the reboot option I hope this solves your issue
you dont, thats why you write down those patterns, now you have to hard reset and lose your info, but, here ya go,
---------------------------------------
Follow the detailed instructions below on how to completely reset your RCA Android 7 Voyager (RCT6773W22) tablet.
Step 1. With your tablet off, press and hold the volume up (+) button and power button until you see the RCA splash screen with Nipper and Chipper. Release both buttons to reveal the Android bot on his back with a caution symbol above him.
Step 2. A new screen will appear asking you to use your volume up/down keys to move and the power button to select.
Step 3. Use the volume down (-) button to highlight "wipe data/factory reset." Once highlighted, select using the power button.
Step 4. A new screen will appear asking you to confirm your selection. Use your volume down (-) button to highlight "Yes -- delete all user data." Press the power button to select once highlighted.
Step 5. Once the tablet is finished wiping data, you may press the power button to select "reboot system now." This will restart your tablet.
Step 6. The system will begin to reboot and once again display the RCA logo with Nipper and Chipper. The next "Welcome" screen will prompt you to select your language of choice. Scroll through the options using your finger and press start when finished. Congratulations, you have successfully reset your RCA 7 Voyager tablet.
You should be able to press and hold the power on switch for several seconds and get the tablet to shut down. If it won't shut down with the power switch, leave it on until it shuts off due to low battery and then recharge and try rebooting the device. If it won't reboot after that, check your manual for the factory reset process. See if you can contact customer support for your unit and get the process for re-flashing the bios from them. That usually requires loading a specific set of files onto the external memory SD card and holding down a switch when restarting the tablet. All files and downloaded apps will be erased if you have to go that way.
Use the power switch up/down? to select 1 though 6. Once you have it on the choice you want (reboot system now?) press the power button. it should reboot.
You may try factory reset, but will lose all data stored on the tablet. Switch off the tab first. Then boot into recovery mode by pressing and holding the volume up and power buttons. At the RCA logo screen, release the volume up button and you will see an android robot picture. Press and hold the power button and tap the volume up button once more and you will get access to the recovery mode menu. Use volume up and down buttons to scroll and navigate to the wipe data/factory reset option and use the power button to confirm. When the process is complete, reboot your tablet
Your tablet's battery is probably dead. This may be because you have a bad battery, a bad charger, or a bad charging cable. Try using a different cable first and let it charge for a few hours - even if it doesn't look like it is charging.
If the new cable doesn't do it, try using a different charger. Samsung devices are picky about what charger you use, so try to use one made for your tablet. If you don't have another charger, plug it into a PC's USB port with the PC turned on. Leave them on and plugged in over night. That should trickle charge your tablet.
If neither of those work, try holding down the power and the Volume Up buttons. Keep them both pressed until the Samsung logo/boot screen comes up - should only be a couple seconds. Once the logo comes up release the power button but keep holding the Volume Up button. That will boot you into Recovery Mode. If that comes up, it means you've got power and your tablet isn't broken, but there is something wrong with the Android OS that is keeping your tablet from powering up normally. Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to move the selection highlight to the Factory Reset option. This will wipe all the info off your tablet and put it back into a "brand new just out of the box" state. You'll lose your information on the tablet, but this should fix the boot problem. Press the power button to chose the Factory Reset option. It will take a few minutes. Once it says that it is done, select the Reboot or Restart option. It should reboot. This boot will take longer than normal, since its wiping things out. But not more than a few minutes.
1. Press the power button to get the option menu for
Power / Reboot / Silence option.
2. From that menu you'll have to hold down the Power button while holding down the Home button on the side of your tablet.
3. This brings up a menu to "Reboot Into Safe Mode" (These first 3 steps the manufacture fails to mention, which is where many users get stuck)
4. Hit yes for Safe Mode and then hold down both Power and Home buttons on side till the Dopo logo appears.
5. Release the buttons and hit the Power button one more time, then hold the Home button down till a menu option appears.
6. Use the Home button to move down to "Factory Reset" and press the Power button to select that option. Once it says "complete" then use the Power button to select "Reboot."
