Hi there
I have found some details of the printer here
http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/STARINMANUALS/Sony%20Security/UP-D50%20-%20Quick%20Spec.pdf
where it clearly states that the printer is SCSI based. This is not a usual printer interface, and it is highly unlikely that your Vaio will have a SCSI interface at all. However it does say "USB compatible with optional SCSI to USB converter cable" with a footnote "Window 2000/XP only" and your Vaio will almost certainly have a USB interface. Unfortunately the drivers on the Sony website here:
Sony Global DP UP D50
only go up to Windows 2000/XP with no drivers listed for later versions of Windows, so you may have problems getting a driver to work.
But I think your major problem will be getting the cable to link the two. Sony's web site doesn't come up with anything and more general searches don't come up with a lot. My best suggestion is to determine the type of SCSI plug/socket on the printer and then go for an external SCSI adaptor (USB) with the appropriate plug/socket and then use an appropriate SCSI to SCSI cable to link the two. Without knowing more about your Sony's SCSI interface type I'm afraid I can't help more.
Hope this has been a little helpful
Cheers

SOURCE: Connecting a sony Vaio vgn-fe570g laptop to a Samsung Monitor

There is an issue with the vga port on 2006 - 2007 sony vaio laptops. It doesn't push enough power to samsung lcds. There are all sorts of complicated solutions suggested by all sorts of people. Don't waste your time. Get yourself a connection cable with gold contacts and you'll be straight. It costs approx. $33.99. I got this one and it works fine (and I have a weak-*** TZ):

SOURCE: connecting laptop to sony hdmi tv

There is a option on T.V.'s that you need to put it to VGA on the t.v. also you can go into properties on the output of the video to the t.v. and laptop to verify that it is sending a signal.
Also check to make sure all the cords are pressed in properly and that the cord doesn't have any cuts or cracks in it or any pins are bent at one or another end it happens sometimes it get's plugged in the pins aren't hard to bend.

SOURCE: Loose power connection on sony vaio PCG 7V1M

I'm assuming the laptop is out of warrantee.
It sounds like the power adapter jack is broken. To replace this you have to take the laptop apart down to the motherboard, unsolder the jack, solder on the replacement and reassemble the laptop. This is not something a novice should attempt.
Check with your laptop repair shops. The replacement/repair should be under $100.

I have windows 7 and a pretty stock sony vaio VPCEH12FXB laptop and for some reason my webcam wont work. whenever i try to open it or use oovoo it just tells me that my webcam is either not connected or in...

If your webcam worked before this problem then you probably have a hardware issue. The webcam is installed on your LCD display panel. This is connected to the system board via a cable. It's possible the cable became dislodged from the webcam or the system board due to opening the LCD display to use the laptop.
Go to device manager to see if the webcam appears in list of devices. If not then
you will need to have the laptop repaired by Sony or competent repair shop.

What type interface does my sony PCV RS520use for my DVD Burner ?

Since your hard drive uses IDE, so will your CDROM.

There are normally two IDE interfaces, with each interface having a primary and secondary connection (total of four connections, 2 on each).

You hard drive would be connected to the primary connection of the IDE interface 0, and the CD/DVD Rom would be connected to the secondary connection of the IDE interface 1.

Here is a link to some manuals you can look at in PDF format.

Screen is white

You could have a video controller problem or a LCD screen problem, what you are seeing is the backlighting but no video information.
To check if you have a video problem, connect an external monitor to your laptop and bootup your laptop, if you see Windows booting up the external monitor then the video controller is OK, and your problem is the LCD screen or the video cable connection on the motherboard (may need reseating).
If you cannot fix the LCD screen then use your laptop with an external monitor.

Connect gr215sp to tv

Use an VGA or DVI (depending on the incomming ports on your tv) cable. And if you want to have sound from your laptop you also need a audiocable from your laptop to your tv, Vga and DVi dosent thansport sound, for that reason you need the separate audio cable.

Good luck to you

Sony vaio r505jl docking station

I googled this and found that both the notebook itself and the docking station have ethernet connections, the docking station ethernet connection seems to be between the usb and monitor connection, The notebook itself has a ethernet connection on the right side of the notebook near the back under a rubber cover. Let me know if that was correct or not.
