I did the Option > DMD - Digital setting and tried changing the index relay as listed in the service manual with no help (on the Red, Green and Blue bars on the index relay adjustment mine are just different shades of yellow, yellow and blue no matter how high or low I go). Looked for the "jumper cable" others have mentioned, but got all the way to the circuit board and confirmed my model does not have that jumper cable on it. Is there anything else I can do to adjust it? Also, my new color wheel did not come with any numbers/instructions on it. I ordered the BP96-01103A on Amazon but the one they sent is L6/BP61-01024A - at first I thought that might be the problem, but when searching elsewhere I see both of those product numbers listed simultaneously for the same color wheels.
I'm not sure you received the correct color wheel. Do you have anything left of the shattered color wheel to compare it to the new one? Seems if you got the correct wheel then the colors should of been the same. Color wheels spin at the same rate of 60Hz. The only reason why you would get the wrong color is that the color on the wheel is in the wrong placed at the right time. I would see if you can get a wheel the same # as your original one.
Thanks! Unfortunately when we originally installed the new color wheel and everything booted up fine, we threw out the shattered wheel and it wasn't until a few hours later when we had connected everything to the TV that we realized the color was off so badly. By then there was no way to get the old one back (down a garbage chute in our apartment building). I may try going back to the seller to clarify the difference between the model numbers and try to get a new one. I was just worried because I had read some other threads where people said colors being off like this could also possibly be damage to the optics drive or something else.
I don't know how expensive that color wheel was that you bought but obtaining the original part# color wheel may be the answer. At least you could compare that wheel with the alternative part # wheel you currently have.
Yeah, they're about $120 each. I had already replaced the lamp for $40 as well before realizing the color wheel was the problem, so I'm hoping to not have to pay another $120 if I can help it since it's a 7 year-old TV. Trying to see if the seller will swap this one for the correct part. Thanks again for the help!
