Speedstream 6520 wireless gateway not working

not possible to retrieve a password! that's why they are secure... if you have your ISP ADSL setup details you can reset the router to factory default and reprogram it from scratch, or call their help desk BEFORE you do it and ask them to email you the connection details before you start. then WRITE the password on a label and stick it to the router.

HEY setting up router is very simple.
Your ISP is comcast cable. settings up router with comcast is very simple.

1. Log into the router's admin console. (Often http://192.168.1.1/)
2. Release the IP address. (Method varies by router manufacturer)
3. Turn off router, ethernet hubs/switches, and the cable/DSL modem.
4. Leave off overnight.
5. Turn everything back on.

hi there... normally you get the Key number .. on the back of the router.. its would be a WEP key or WAP key.

Yes.Get rid of it.I have a Satellite also and do agree configuration was dodgy at first but the range in Wi-fi was not even 50 ft. as opposed the 100 ft. promised.But finally,after it shorted out my dial tone like most other 6520's I just went back to my trusty speedstream 4100.Good-luck.

um not sure, but if you have the disk that came with your router run it and fill in the wireless wizard. Also, on my 6520 the "wireless" led doesnt light up unless i have a device connected that is wireless. Your laptop may be incorrectly setup

i am using the seimens modem/router with the voip adapter connected via ethernet cable
i have updated the seimens modem/router with the latest firmware from the telstra site E752-AF5-106-71-a056-v1s

Heres what I would do. Plug the speeedstream in, reboot the computer. Now we need to find your "Default Gateway" (the IP address of your speedstream). In windows XP:
Click Start
Click RUN
type CMD
type IPCONFIG (enter)

you will now have some information on your screen, look for the "default gateway" Enter this number in the address bar and you should be directed toward the speedstream configuration page.



(If its anything like the Speedstreem 6520 you will go to the "Home Network" option and then you will see wireless.)
