Replace outlet gasket.

From your description I would say a broken O ring seal in the brewing chamber. You will need to remove the brewing unit and clean, replace seals and lubricate the sliding guides.

mine had a small round plastic push in pry out retaining button on the frount side of the disc once that was removed the disc turned out of its locked position & droped out

Coffee is leaking past the silicon gasket. To get to the gasket, look for a round plastic plug in the top of the handle and pry it up. Under the plug is a screw that prevents the top of the carafe from twisting off. Remove the screw. Will now be able to unscrew the the plastic handle/top part from the stainless steel pot.

Between the 2 pieces is a silicon rubber gasket. Clean everything good. lubricate the gasket all over with "Plumbers Faucet and Valve Grease" available from Ace Hardware. It is waterproof and resists high temperatures.

Replace the silicon gasket making sure the groove fits over the top lip of the pot. Screw the handle/top part on the pot clockwise. It will only twist a short distance, but make sure it is very snug.

You do not need to replace the screw. This will make it easier to take apart if it leaks again. You might be able to get by with petroleum jelly instead of plumber's grease.

Take the gasket to your local hardware store and have them match it up.The answer is no, the gasket is not supposed to be split. It was probably tightened too much.

Should be SILICONE tubing not plastic tubing. Whatever fits tight.

I had the same problem .... My gasket split and I replaced it and water was still leaking past the gasket... Try this - Don't tighten the screen screw all the way...I have mine set at about 6 turns counterclockwise from fully tightened. Loosen the screen screw more if needed until the leaking stops... As a result, the gasket will sit lower and make a better seal with the portafilter lip.

hi! It goes on the top and surrounds the pin that pops the hole in the kcup....the problem I'm having is how do you stick it on? Should we use crazy glue?

Mine did the same thing, except I have the model #47665 because the model you have I had to replace twice. It would start/stop numerous times during brewing. Anyway, if yours leaks coffee the same as mine it's because the tiny plastic part holding the small rubber gasket that controls leaking (inside the tank under the screen) is most likely broken. Apparently it's a common problem. I called HB at 1-800-851-8900 and talked to customer support. They are sending me a whole new tank (cannot just fix the gasket) for the whopping price of $5.00 to cover shipping. That's right, $5.00 for shipping gets you a whole new tank. I love Hamilton Beach. I have had the same problem with my Saeco Digital & Saeco Superautomica machines. After much work and somewhat expense I have finally found a simple fix. All you need to do is replace the gasket which is located just under the water reservoir.
(1) Take the water reservoir off
(2) Pop the round plastic piece located in the middle off (don't worry you won't break it as is it pretty tough)
(3) Take the black rubber gasket out and either:
(a) cover the present gasket with the brew group lube or
(b) replace the gasket with a new one.
which will give it a air tight fit and prevent any further water leakage from the reservoir.

I also put some Brew Group lube ( http://cerinicoffee.com/Lube_brew_group_saeco.asp ) around the gasket as a temp fix until I completely replaced to gasket. Apparently, what happens is that the original gasket gets old, dry rots or whatever allowing the water to leak out of the reservoir. And then all over your work surface. I have the same problem with my Valira expresso coffee maker. If the manufacturer does not supply extra gaskets, as they should, when the coffee maker is purchased, forget about trying to purchase them. Instead, bring the broken seal to a hardware store and find material to use, using the old one as a template. Most hardware stores have assorted sizes of round gasket that can be adapted.
