I have taken it all apart and put it back together again numerous times. When starting up, it makes a pretty horrible burring sound, after initializing it goes to the 69.0 printer error. There is no paper anywhere in the printer, no jam. I don't really need the duplexer, but can't make the printer work without it installed. Any advice? Thanks, much appreciated!
Hi Mary L,
Good day... This steps may be helpful for you. try sorting one by one steps...below
solution 1:
1.The duplexer side adjust has failed.
2. Turn the printer off and then on.
3. Reseat the duplexer assembly.
4. Replace the duplexer assembly.
solution 2:
1. The duplex printing unit is not functioning.
2. Turn the MFP off, and then turn the MFP on.
3.Reseat the duplexer.
4. Check the connection between the duplexer and the DC Controller.
5. Replace the duplexer.
solution 3:
1. Duplex mechanism failure.
2. Duplex slide adjust has failed.
3. Temporary error.
Hope this solve the problem...
Thanks in Advance.

I'd suggest it is a sensor issue. Since the error comes up, the printer stops responding - even if everything is okay.

thx infonet. Sorry for reading that you have another prob. Did you open the printer? In case yes, you might have disconnected the small plastic foil which leads the printhead (encoder strip). The foil is located paralell to the driving belt of the printhead. try to fix it in place again. Have a look at the foil (encoder strip): is it stained with ink? If yes you need a new encoder strip. If not you have to place the head on the leftside (where the three white disks are) You can pull the head up in that position and watch the encoder strip when pushing it back in place. Another reason could be that the head crashes somewhere on his cycling way: Open cover and press the two plastics by thumb (located on the other side of the arrow-knob facing to inside) to avoid : cover open message. Power up machine. watch the head cycling. Does it run the hole way from right to left side and back? Or does it stuck some where? Please write here where it stopps.

Probably one of the sensors on the fuser is not working correctly. There are two sensors on the back of the fuser that move when the paper exits the fuser. Remove the back of the printer when the printer says there is a jam and move the sensors to see if the error goes away. If so you may have to replace the fuser unless you can just replace the defective sensor.
