How do I change the time on Panasonic kx-t7433?

**1234 isn't working (gives me 3 beeps after I hit "4"). We've tried this from several phones in the office. According to my coworker it worked 2 years ago, but hasn't since. Additionally, is there a way to reset this "1234" if that's the issue?

SOURCE: I have a Panasonic KX-TG6051CM

I had the same problem, and it seems that the battery charging circuit in the handset had locked up, constantly charging the battery until it overheated. I was able to reset the circuit in my handset by completely draining the battery. Here is the procedure:

1. Remove the handset from the charging cradle, and leave it on for a few days until the battery runs out, and the handset finally turns off. At his point, the battery will be very low, BUT NOT COMPLETELY DRAINED.

2. Next, you must manually drain the charge remaining in the battery by shorting out the two contacts on it. Shorting won't damage the battery, since it is holding very little charge at this point. An easy way to physically do this is to remove the battery, and place a piece of thin wire across the the two contacts of the HANDSET. I am referring to the contacts inside the handset that connect to the battery, NOT the contacts on the bottom outside that connect the handset to the charging cradle. Next, put the battery back in, sandwiching the wire between the battery's contacts and those inside the handset. This will hold the wire in place. DO NOT PUT THE HANDSET BACK INTO THE CHARGER, WITH THE BATTERY SHORTED OUT.

3. Wait about 30 minutes for the battery to completely die. Remove the jumper wire, and but the handset back into the charger.

4. If the battery was fully discharged , you will get a message on the handset telling you that you should let it will charge for 7 hours. If you do not get this message, then either the battery was not fully discharged, or your problem is different from mine. Try the procedure again in Step 3 for another 30 minutes to discharge the battery some more.

5. If you get the "Wait for 7 hours to charge" message on the handset, then leave it in the charging cradle for the 7 hours requested. After that, it should work fine.

Let me know how you make out.

SOURCE: How do I change the time on a KX-T7730 phone?

Basically, there are 2 ways of programming the date
and time - the short way and the long way.
If you are using the KX-T7730 phone on a Panasonic
KX-Txx 308/824 system:

SHORT WAY:
From the Switcboard / Main telephone
( ext 101, 10 or 9 ) with the handset on the
cradle/hook:
1. Press PROGRAM 0
2. Enter Date and Time
( The format is: yymmdd,
1 to 7 1=Monday 2=Tuesday etc, hh:mm,
0 or 1 0=AM 1=PM ) see example
3. Press AUTO DIAL / STORE to save your changes
4. Press PROGRAM to exit program mode

EXAMPLE:
If the date and time is 3 February 2010 Tuesday 2:15 pm you will enter as follows:
100203 2 02:15 1

LONG WAY:
From the Switcboard / Main telephone ( usually ext 101, 10 or 9 ) with the handset on the cradle/hook:
1. Press PROGRAM * # followed by the system
password ( default is 1234).
2. Now press 000 and then SP-PHONE.
Enter the year.
3. Scroll to the month with the right scroll key
(located at the right bottom corner of the phone).
To change the month use the AUTO ANS / MUTE
button.
4. Now scroll right again and change the date and
day.
To change the day, again use AUTO ANS / MUTE
5. Scroll right again and the time will appear.
Set the time.
To change am/pm scroll to it, and again,
use the AUTO ANS / MUTE button.
6. Press PROGRAM to exit program mode and you
are done.

How do you change time on Panasonic KX t7436 phone

A 7436 phone works on TD and TDA series systems only. TD's are white, TDA's are blue/black. This thread will work, you need to find the Operator or Manager's station to make the changes. If you don't have access to *# then try **. If you get 3 beeps, you don't have the right phone.

3) press "speaker" two times,
4) change the time
5) press "store".
6) pick up the receiver to complete the change.

Do this change on the "lead" phone and it will reset all the others on your system. Not exactly an intuitive process to be sure!

Setting the time

Your phone can be used on different Panasonic phone systems and each one programs differently. You were probably reading instructions for the wrong system. You need to determine which system you have (it's not a phone) and find the directions for that.

Here is a link that has time change instructions for many Panasonic systems: http://www.tel-programmer.com/time_setting.html
