When i turn on my camera on the lens comes out and it goes back in & turns off

Apparently the problem with my camera shutting down and the lens staying out, was the rechargeable batteries I was using. They basically lkicked the bucket, and were no longer working., I bought a new set of lithium batteries and the camera is working fine now.

W#ell I was pulling my hair out with my camera problem. Its only a little over two years old.

Turned it on and it beeped three times, lens out slightly. I found that if I turn it on now and pull out the lense that it is now ok. I will blow around the lense with my air compressor and see if that solves my problem. Wait right there >>>Used a air compressor but did not solve the problem. Did find that when the unit is turned on you can pull out the lense for picture taking. Will get it fixed..

Everytime I try to turn it on, the lens comes out for about a second, the camera beeps 3 times, the lens retracts and the camera shuts off. The battery is completely charged and the camera is only 4 months old. HELPP :(
