Hi i have just purchased a second hand sony rear projection tv model number kl50w1u and it has a greenish and yellowish tint to it coming in from the sides i have tried to alter the colour brightness and so on but it does not seem to help its about 6years old i believe can anybody help with a solution to this problem
I have been advised that the color/light engine of the TV fails often and will typically create a green tint on this unit. I have one on order to get a replacement installed. BTW, it is not "user serviceable" and (for me) will require moving the TV to the repair shop for the change-out.

I have a Sony DLP (KDS-50A2000) and began noticing a similar yellow-greenish tint that is uniform across the whole screen; however, not on all images. I don't know if this is a pattern; however, the tint effect is most predominant with what are suppose to be off-white colors and maybe tan colors (like human faces). It's becoming annoying. I sthis normal, or should I contact a tv repair
I have the same problem with the greenish tint on my TV. Please let us know if the color/light engine you have on order fixes the problem. Luckily my problem has not gotten worse and it's been there for 4+ years.
