How can I send designs from my PC to my Toyota 830 embroidery machine when my Pantograms software/hardware is no longer working?

Had to have another PC built after a crash. Kept the same operating system - Windows XP - and my embroidery software works fine. But when I tried to load up the communication software - Pantograms Network C, Version 4.03 - it says my security key/dongle is either damaged or missing. It will load up the software but won't go any farther than that. So apparently all I lack is the ability to send designs to the machine from the PC which is pretty important. Old software, old machine, but still worked until this. Pantograms has nothing - don't service anything that old. Either need a new key or another program or something that will allow me to talk to the machine. Help?

Some of the Pantograms software programs require a USB dongle connected to the computer. However, the driver for this dongle has to be installed before you install the software or connect the dongle. I suspect you may not have installed the driver or the dongle is missing.

Assuming that the dongle is connected:
Close your embroidery software program and all of the Pantograms software, including the Network C software, on your computer and remove the USB device. Put the software install CD into your machine's optical drive. (If your new machine doesn't have an optical drive, get a USB optical drive or copy the files from the CD to a 1GB+ USB flash drive at another computer with an optical drive.) If Windows XP starts the autorun routine for the CD, click Exit. Then double-left click on My Computer to launch File Explorer. Go to the CD drive (or USB drive if you used the work-around) and double-click on it. Open the Rainbow Drivers folder and then open the XP folder. Double click on the program: setup.exe . Choose Complete install as the program executes. Then close File Explorer when the install is done. Now insert the USB dongle and follow the on-screen message about New Hardware found to install the Rainbow driver from C: .

If you do not see the New Hardware found message, try putting the dongle into a different USB port. (Make sure to avoid USB hubs - they can add to USB device issues.) If the dongle doesn't work at any port, you may need to use a different method. There is a flash reader available for connecting a USB flash drive to the Toyota 830 here: http://www.plrelectronics.com/lab/usb_reader.php . (Scroll down to the Toyota machine section. This isn't cheap but it is cheaper than some of the newer embroidery software packages.)

I hope this helps.

Use program compatibility wizard and you'll be able to use the same program in Windows XP also.

  • To start the Program Compatibility Wizard, click Start, click Help and Support, click Find compatible hardware and software for Windows XP, and then, under See Also in the navigation pane, click Program Compatibility Wizard.

I have Windows Vista; I also had a similar problem; found out that I could only use the usb port on my computer exclusively for sewing as the driver software seems to conflict;
Also, having said that, go to Pfaff.com & download the free driver upgrade and see if that will get you started good luck deb

SOURCE: Dongle won't work with 4D Embroidery

Unfortunately some people are having this problem when they are not properly installing the updates. It's important that when 4D is installed that you assign a particular port for your 4D dongle and always use this port when loading 4D. Have your dongle plugged in and access your configure menu. Click on Smart Update. Download updates into a file where you can find them. Follow the directions for each update. For the driver update, you must uninstall the current driver you have and then install the update for the driver. If installing the updates doesn't fix your problem, the only solution is to completely uninstall 4D and all of its components and then reinstall it. Sorry...but this has been the only way to fix it with some systems. Also, make sure your User Account Control is off before installing 4D.

SOURCE: Have a new computer with windows 7. my old

The problem is that the software is so old it was written for 16-bit Windows 3.1 back in the early 1990s. Windows 95 and Windows XP maintained compatibility with that old software, but Windows 7 no longer does. A competent computer nerd could create a Virtual PC running Windows XP inside your Windows 7 box, and this would give you an environment in which to run your old software without keeping two computers around.

Help with Key Pad on Toyota AD 830 Embroidery Machine...?

Hi,

Please use the machine's manual table of contents to find the troubleshooting section and description for the 2-bar error that you're seeing. If the related procedure does not work, please look for and use the factory reset process to restore your machine to it's default setting. But take care as any internal memory might be wiped. Thank you.

My Bernini 830 would not recognize the embroidery attachment. I re-attached many times, but it doesn't work.

I assume you mean a Bernina 830. If you have removed the slide-on table, I have two possible solutions. I've seen this with a couple of Viking embroidery attachment units. (I am also assuming it's not a hoop issue.)

You could have corrosion on the pins that send the signals between the embroidery attachment and the sewing machine. Remove the embroidery attachment and turn off the sewing machine. Unplug the sewing machine. Spray the pins with an electronic contact cleaner; one example is here: http://www.homedepot.com/p/CRC-QD-11-oz-Contact-Cleaner-02130-6/202262505 . Push the embroidery attachment into the sewing machine by lifting up the far side and then sliding it into the port. Remove the embroidery attachment. Repeat this a few times. (The friction of the insertion and removal will remove any dirt or corrosion.) Plug in the sewing machine and turn it on. Try connecting the embroidery attachment. If it works, remember to clean the contacts the next time the embroidery attachment isn't recognized.

Once I helped someone with two sewing/embroidery machines with an unrecognized embroidery attachment. In that case, the person swapped which embroidery unit went with which machine. The contacts were not the same and didn't mate. Once the correct machine and embroidery unit were paired, the embroidery unit was recognized instantly.

I hope this helps. If it doesn't, you may need to talk to your Bernina repair technician at your local shop.

Will the premier embroidery System work on my janome 9900?

Hello Maria
The Premier Embroidery System software is compatible with all sewing machine brands.
Once an embroidery design whether created or downloaded can be saved in various embroidery formats. You can save the design as .jef and use it in your Janome embroidery sewing machine. If the same design is saved in other formats, it can be used in other sewing machine brands.
The Premier Embroidery Software is amazing.

Please let me know if this is helpful.

Embroidery stick

You need the USB Manager software to view the files. Have a look at all the software that were supplied with the machine. Load the embroidery software on your laptop and then open the USB manager.

When it opens it will show a light blue screen and grey icons to the left. Click in "disk", then click on "read disk" and you should be able to see your designs. The grey icons will turn orange were designs are stored, and the grey ones indicate empty space for more designs.

Enjoy your fantastic machine
